From 21-26 May, 2026, with the permission and assign from H.E. SOK Dara, Director General of Trust Regulator (TR), Mr. Heng Panha, Head of Social and Personal Trust Supervison Division, Mr. Chhay Chanmakara, Head of Public and Commercial Trust Supervision Division and Mr. Eung Leng, Head of Financial Trust Supervision Division of Trust Registration Department of the TR, led officials to conduct an on-site visit at location of real estate trust at Takeo, Kampong Cham, Kandal and Phnom Penh to check and verify the trust fund identity of trust property operated by licensed trust companies that applied for trust establishment and registration at the TR.

On Monday morning, May 25, 2026, the Trust Regulator (TR) and the Cambodia Financial Intelligence Unit (CAFIU) jointly organized a dissemination workshop on the “Guidelines on Know Your Customer Measures in the Trust Sector and the Instruction on Customer Due Diligence Measures within the Framework of Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism.” The workshop was attended by trustees and related persons providing services in the trust sector and was presided over by H.E. Sok Dara, Director General of the Trust Regulator, and H.E. Heng Bomakara, Head of the Cambodia Financial Intelligence Unit, at the Business Development Center building.

The purpose of the workshop was to enhance understanding and facilitate the implementation of duties by operators in the trust sector and reporting entities required to comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) measures in the trust sector and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) measures within the framework of anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing. It also aimed to prepare for and continue maintaining the trust sector’s low-risk rating, as stated in the Second National Risk Assessment Report on Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing (NRA II), issued on February 25, 2026.

The organization of this workshop complies with the recommendations and international standards of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the Peer Review Group of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes (Global Forum of the OECD), and the working groups related to financial stability arrangements.
