Today, the Chairman Makueni County Public Service Board attended a 2Jiajiri Graduation Ceremony which is a first of its own held in Makueni HQ- Makueni institute of Vocational Education Centre (MIVEC), where over 900 graduands from various Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) across the County were awarded for successfully completing a training in different technical and vocational skills.

In his remarks, Mr. Benjamin KasaMBA congratulated the graduands for their dedication and hard work and encouraged them to actively seek employment opportunities as a boost to the available self employment ventures. "The importance of nurturing youth with practical and market-oriented skills that are relevant and responsive to the demands of the job market enhances employability and promotes sustainable socio-economic development." He said. Gracing the Event was Governor Makueni County, H.E Mutula Kilonzo Junior, CBS..accompanied by the Deputy Governor, among other key educationalists.

100 Days Milestones by the Third Makueni County Public Service Board.

Today, April 20th, 2026, the County Public Service Board led by the Chairman presented a report on 100- Days in Office to H.E the Governor and the Speaker of the County Assembly of Makueni in Separate Meetings.

Contained in the report is a detailed way out on addressing;
1. Staff Morale and employment related motivations
2. Improving checks for adherence to National Values and Principles of Governance as enriched in the CoK
3. Employee productivity and realising the Happy hour for the people of Makueni

To further strengthen the institution, the report has emphasised on use of existing policy and planning documents among others inoder to streamline planning and re-engineer Performance Management System and succession Management.

While addressing the team, H.E Mutula Kilonzo Jnr emphasised on the need for the County Executive to draw an implementation plan to ensure the institutional gaps pointed out shall be sealed going forward.

The Speaker to the County Assembly Hon. Douglas Mbilu Commended the Board and reiterated that Progress is evident but it must translate into real results, felt by both public officers and the people of Makueni County. "I commend the CPSB for strict adherence to timelines." He said. "Now let's push for efficiency "

Human Resource Management remains a key pillar of effective service delivery within the county requiring robust disciplinary processes and maintenance of high staff morale. These efforts underpin the Board’s mantra, “The Happy Hour,” a concept aligned with modern HR practice, which recognizes a motivated, valued and well-supported employee is more productive and committed in their work.

The Board has successfully conducted a baseline survey on employee satisfaction and compliance with the National Values and Principles within the County Public Service, generating critical data on service delivery and key challenges to support informed decision making, while guiding strategic interventions to strengthen accountability, enhance employee satisfaction and improve overall service delivery.
