The UNSC increasingly emphasizes the need for a comprehensive and multi-dimensional approach to counter the spread of violent extremism. In its resolution 2178 (2014), the Council denounced VE as a threat to international peace and security. The Council called the member states to engage with other partners in developing strategies to counter VE narrative. Initiatives for countering incitement and VE can take many forms. Campo Tubonge Ubuntu, is an initiative that bring students aboard in tackling the menace of violent extremism, keeping in mind that the dialogues will provide a safe space for open discussions. Through the principles of Ubuntu, our goal is to use sustained dialogue to reach university students to increase their understanding of preventing, countering and transforming violent extremism.
