YOUTH EMPOWERMENT:
This is an agenda/initiative by the working/political class only in words but not meaning to improve the social and economic welfare of the youths.
It is meant to limit the youths aggressiveness from raising/pursuing their social and political urge. This has left the youths to be spectators rather than the main participants in the initiative meant for them. For that reason, youths have not benefitted in any way so far in our Bahati Ward through that agenda which is in every politician's list every time. As a ward, we are suffering and wailing everyday from the worsening of our service conditions. Bad roads (mostly affecting youth in bodaboda sector), wasting away of talents, skills and innovation among our youths, water problem among many others that are mostly affecting our youths and the society at large.
Youths, it is high time we support each other arm in arm and with our armors on we strongly defend each other. We know our problems and only we can solve them. Like the kikuyu saying goes, 'ciathua ndongoria citikinyagira nyeki kana maai', If the leader limps, the flock will never access pasture or water. So let us support our youth elites who have come out to contest in the various leadership positions may they be political or social. Only in this way we will have direct participation and representation empowering our own kind.
For parents, it is also high time you support us and make us feel fully responsible people in the society. Let there be space for youth and that is how you prepare and bring out out the leadership qualities in us.
As an aspirant in the coming 2022 Bahati Ward elections, Youth Empowerment is my agenda which I intend to put in practice as I will address by youths and for youths.
Youths, let us not be our own impediments in achieving our goals.
