Giraffe Manor is The Safari Collection’s flagship property in Nairobi and offers once-in-a lifetime encounters with Africa’s most iconic safari mammal. The stars of the show here are the herd of endangered Rothschild’s giraffes who roam the sanctuary surrounding the manor house. Guests can delight in the thrill of waking up to find them poking their slender necks through their bedroom windows, hoping for a treat or two. At breakfast, don’t be alarmed to find them fluttering their long lashes over your table, eager to join in the feast. The excitement continues with a traditional afternoon tea served on the lawns, when guests will find the giraffes eager to interact. The historic manor house dates back to the 1930s and its elegant interiors still retain many of the original features. Together with an idyllic backdrop against the Ngong Hills, exceptional service and exquisite cuisine, Giraffe Manor offers a unique experience unlike anywhere else in the world.

Giraffe Manor has a wonderful way of blurring the line between the house and the wild beyond.

Inside, its character is found in the antique furniture and rooms full of individual touches. Outside, the gardens stretch towards the sanctuary. And every so often, the two worlds meet, whether thats a long neck appearing at the bedroom window or a curious visitor peering in through the doorway.

Our 12 rooms are named after the giraffes, people and moments that have shaped the Manor over the years.

There’s Daisy, named for the first Nubian giraffe hand-raised here by Jock and Betty Leslie-Melville. And Jock, Betty, Lynn, Marlon, Edd, Kelly, Helen, Arlene and Salma, each with their own connection to the house and its much-loved herd.

So when you check in, you’re not simply booking a room. You’re becoming part of the next chapter.
