National Youth Council Kenya A Policy Research Advocacy and Advisory unit on youth affairs in Kenya

The National Youth Council, established pursuant to the Kenya National Youth Council Act of 2009 with the mandate to among other things co-ordinate youth organizations, design and continuously review the National Youth Policy. It’s also tasked with developing an "integrated national youth development plan" in collaboration with the ministry responsible for youth affairs. Here are some of the primary functions:
• Promote and popularize the National Youth Policy
• Ensure structures are established and developed for effective
implementation of the policy
• Design key performance indicators and mechanisms to ensure adherence to
policy.

This evening, the National Youth Council Kenya hosted a courtesy call by representatives from NYC Uganda, Faraja International, and The Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC).

The engagement provided an opportunity to explore areas of collaboration and strengthen partnerships towards advancing the youth agenda across the region.

Together, we continue to build stronger regional partnerships for meaningful youth participation, empowerment, and development.

Coastal youth showed up today at Swahili Pot Hub as we continued physical civic education for the NYC Elections 2026.

The young people engaged on the electoral process, eligibility, registration, and why their participation matters in choosing leaders who will amplify the voices of the millions of Kenyan youth.

These elections, from ward level through to the National Youth Congress, are how that voice gets structured representation.
