The Commandant General, National Youth Service, James K. Tembur, MBS, joined H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto, Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, and the leadership of the National Police Service at the Administration Police Service Training College – Embakasi ‘A’ Campus, for the Passing-Out Parade of newly trained police recruits.

The CG’s presence reaffirmed the strong spirit of public service and commitment that continues to unite Kenya’s uniformed and disciplined services in safeguarding the nation and serving the people.

The National Youth Service continues to strengthen its operational capacity through strategic investment in modern, efficient and fit-for-purpose machinery.

As part of the ongoing modernisation programme, 𝟱𝟬 𝗛𝘆𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗶 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗮𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 have been acquired to enhance the Service’s capacity to undertake construction works and equipment hire services, while supporting key national programmes including the ClimateWorx Programme, Nairobi River Regeneration Programme and other nation-building initiatives.

Chairman, NYS Council, Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Adan Mulata, MGH, CBS, OGW, ‘ndc’ (K) psc (UK), led an NYS delegation to the Hyundai Corporation offices in the Republic of Korea for the pre-shipment inspection of the equipment.

The acquisition advances one of the eight NYS business models aimed at enhancing commercialisation and strengthening the Service’s sustainability.

The National Youth Service has once again demonstrated excellence, winning three prestigious trophies at the Mombasa International Show.

The Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Hon. Mutahi Kagwe, EGH, officially opened the Show and toured the NYS Stand, where he was received by the Deputy Commandant General, Operations and Logistics, Nicholas J. Makokha, HSC. The CS was highly impressed by the Service’s exhibitions and innovations.

Emerging Best Tertiary Level Education Institution Stand, Other than University; Best Stand in Youth Activities, Empowerment & Capacity Building; and Best Stand in Hospitality & Catering Services, we also emerged 2nd Runner-Up for Best Stand in Display & Presentation of Security Services.

The Chairman National Youth Service Council, Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Adan Mulata, MGH, CBS, OGW, ‘ndc’ (K) psc, together with the Commandant General, James K. Tembur, MBS, and the Secretary General of the Kenya Red Cross Society Dr. Ahmed Idris, today led senior management teams from both organisations in a strategic meeting at the NYS Headquarters.

The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration and creating greater synergy in disaster management, emergency response and preparedness, with particular emphasis on planning and mitigation measures ahead of the anticipated El Niño rains.

The engagement provided an opportunity for the two organisations to explore areas of cooperation, enhance coordination and leverage their respective capabilities in preparedness and response.

At the NYS Stand, we continue to showcase the Service’s diverse programmes, innovations, products and services, demonstrating our contribution to youth empowerment, skills development, climate action, security services, hospitality, sustainable agriculture and national development.

The Deputy Commandant General, Operations and Logistics, Nicholas J. Makokha, HSC, this morning visited the NYS Exhibition Stand, where he interacted with the team and toured the exhibits on display. He expressed his appreciation for the impressive showcase.

Members of the public are encouraged to visit the NYS Exhibition Stand throughout the Show to learn more about the Service, its mandate and the opportunities available to young Kenyans.

𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗥 𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗧𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦

The Commandant General National Youth Service, James K. Tembur, MBS, this morning officiated the commencement of the induction training for NYS Officer Cadets and Privates at NYS Camp Naivasha.

Addressing the trainees, the Commandant General said the training would be highly demanding and challenged them to quickly adapt to the Service culture founded on 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲

He urged the trainees to embrace their responsibility to serve the nation with dedication and uphold the Constitution of Kenya, the values and principles of public service, and the core values of the National Youth Service.

The Commandant General further reminded the trainees of the importance of guarding the reputation of the Service and challenged them to build a professional reputation founded on integrity, reliability, discipline and commitment to service.

He encouraged the trainees to approach the training with determination, resilience and a strong sense of duty as they prepare to undertake their responsibilities in service to the nation.

Accompanying the Commandant General were the Deputy Commandant General, Paramilitary Training and National Service, Evans Yaite; Regional Commander, Rift Valley Region, Gilbert Maina OGW; Chief of Personnel, ACG Luke Kipchoge; Commanding Officer, NYS Camp Kirimun, ACG Osman Dida; Commanding Officer, NYS Camp Tumaini, SSP Charles Kipsang; among other senior NYS officers.

Today H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, CGH, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces presided over the 149th Passing-Out Parade of recruits at the NPS Main Campus Kiganjo, Nyeri County.

The Commandant-General, NYS, James K. Tembur, MBS, joined other Service Commanders in the prestigious ceremony where thousands of parents, loved one's and families of the graduating class assembled for this auspicious occasion.

The Head of State congratulated the graduating recruits, on successfully completion of their training and encouraged them to remain disciplined, impartial and committed to serving Kenyans with integrity.

He further reminded the officers to uphold the rule of law, dignity of every citizen and discharge their responsibility in a professional manner.

The Commandant General, James K. Tembur, MBS, today joined the Deputy President, H.E. Kithure Kindiki, E.G.H., during the 27th Passing Out Parade of the Kenya Prisons Officer Cadets held at the Prisons Staff Training College, Ruiru, Kiambu County.

The Deputy President reiterated the Government’s commitment to improving the terms and conditions of service for officers, while urging the graduating officers to uphold integrity, patriotism and fidelity to the law and the Constitution as they embark on their careers in public service.

The National Youth Service congratulates the graduating cadets and wishes them success as they take up their duties.

5ᴛʜ Eᴅɪᴛɪᴏɴ ᴏғ ᴛʜᴇ NYS Bᴀʟʟɢᴀᴍᴇs Cʜᴀᴍᴘɪᴏɴsʜɪᴘ Cᴏɴᴄʟᴜᴅᴇs ɪɴ Gɪʟɢɪʟ

The 5th Edition of the National Youth Service Ballgames Championship has come to a successful conclusion at the Paramilitary Academy in Gilgil, with the Paramilitary Academy emerging as the overall winners after a highly competitive week-long championship.

The closing ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Commandant General, Operations and Logistics, Nicholas J. Makokha, HSC, who also serves as the Chairman of the NYS Sports Committee, in the company of the Deputy Commandant General, Paramilitary Training and National Service, Evans T. Yaite.

The DCG commended the participating sportsmen and women for demonstrating strong teamwork, discipline, commitment and dedication throughout the championship.

The Service appreciates the valuable support and sponsorship extended by partners, including Nairobi United and Admaz Sports, whose contribution played a significant role in the successful hosting of the championship.

The championship, which commenced on Monday, 17th August, brought together all six NYS Regions in a spirited celebration of talent, sportsmanship, and teamwork, highlighting the vital role of sports in promoting discipline, cohesion, and excellence within the Service
