National Cohesion and Integration Commission

National Cohesion and Integration Commission The NCIC is a statutory body established under the National Cohesion and Integration Act (Act No.12 of 2008).

The overall objectives of the Commission are to encourage National Cohesion and Integration by outlawing;

1) Discrimination on ethnic grounds
2) Discrimination by way of victimization
3) Discrimination in employment
4) Discrimination in membership of organisations
5) Discrimination in access to and distribution of public resources
6) Discrimination in property ownership management and disposal
7) Discrimination by other agencies
8) Harassment on the basis of ethnicity
9) Hate speech

Chairperson Bishop Dr. Kepha Nyamweya Omae was yesterday honoured with the prestigious IChangeNations -iCN Civility Award during the 2026 ICN Civility Awards & Thanksgiving Dinner held at RGC Liberty Christian Centre in Nairobi.

The award recognizes distinguished leadership, peacebuilding, civility, and commitment to fostering national cohesion and social responsibility.

The Chairperson was accompanied by NCIC Vice Chairperson Ms. Irene Tulel, Commissioners Ms.Jerusha Mwathime, Mr. Jackson Swadi Kedogo and Mr. Joseph Nguyo, the CEO Daniel Mutegi Giti, and members of the Secretariat in celebrating this significant recognition and thanksgiving moment.
