Today, High Commissioner Ernest Rwamucyo visited the Malaba One-Stop Border Post (OSBP) in Busia County.

He was received by a Kenyan delegation led by Roderick Safari Mulei of Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), who also serves as Chairperson of the Malaba Border Management Committee.

The High Commissioner commended the management team for ensuring efficiency, speed and seamless border processes at Malaba OSBP, which provides for expedited movement of transit in-bound and out-bound Rwanda cargo and persons at the border, ultimately contributing to greater trade facilitation in the region.

The meeting which brought together a multi-agency team agreed to keep streamlining and further strengthening seamless movement of cargo along the Northern Corridor and border processes at the Malaba OSBP.

Today, High Commissioner Ernest Rwamucyo participated in the 2nd EAC Regional Education Conference, held under the theme: "Transforming Education in East Africa: From Commitments to Impact, Fostering Resilient and Future-Ready Systems for Sustainable Development."

The four-day conference brings together Ministers of Education, policymakers, researchers, and development partners from across the region to deliberate on strengthening education systems in East Africa.

Delivering remarks on behalf of Minister Joseph Nsengimana of Ministry of Education, Rwanda , the High Commissioner highlighted Rwanda's efforts to enhance foundational learning, improve teacher effectiveness, strengthen data systems, expand school feeding programs, and advance digital learning to promote future-ready skills.

He also emphasized that education remains a top priority in Rwanda's transformation agenda and a key pillar of Vision 2050.

Yesterday, Rwanda's Minister of Trade and Industry, Antoine Kajangwe, met Dr. Korir Sing'Oei, Kenya's Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, who is in Kigali.

High Commissioner Ernest Rwamucyo, accompanied by diplomats from the High Commission and members of the Committee of the Rwandan Community in Kenya (RCK), yesterday visited Nyeri County to watch the quarter-final match between Elite FC and Vision de la Jeunesse FC in the ongoing RCK Imena Cup 2026, a football tournament bringing together Rwandan teams from across Kenya.

Following the match, the High Commissioner met with 200 members of the Rwandan community from Nyeri, Embu, and Meru counties. He congratulated Vision de la Jeunesse FC of Embu County on securing a place in the semi-finals, which will be held in Nairobi this October.

In his remarks, the High Commissioner highlighted the consular services offered by the High Commission, as well as national development programmes that the community can participate in.

He also encouraged them to continue upholding Rwandan values and to preserve the strong bilateral relations between Rwanda and Kenya by respecting the laws of their host country, Kenya.

RCK Chairperson Dr. Innocent Butare also urged the community to continue upholding the values of unity and social cohesion, which he said are key to fostering a strong, connected, and resilient RCK.

Today, High Commissioner Ernest Rwamucyo paid a courtesy call on Amb. Ida Odinga, Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Today, 800 guests including members of the diplomatic corps, Kenyan government officials, representatives of different organizations, members of the Rwandan community in Kenya, and friends of Rwanda gathered at the High Commission to celebrate the 32nd Anniversary of Liberation Day.

In his remarks, High Commissioner Ernest Rwamucyo noted that occupies a unique and sacred place in Rwanda's history, as it represents the triumph of hope over despair, unity over division, courage over fear, and nationhood over the destructive politics.

He added that the achievements Rwanda has made over the past three decades are the product of visionary leadership, sacrifice, discipline, resilience, and above all, the unity of the Rwandan people.

Representing the Government of Kenya, Amb. Patrick Wamoto, Director General of the Foreign Service Academy at the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, commended Rwanda's remarkable progress over the last three decades, underscoring that Rwanda's story is a powerful affirmation of what can be accomplished when a nation remains focused on a common purpose.

Yesterday, High Commissioner Ernest Rwamucyo visited Kenya Utalii College , where he met with Mark Ogendi, Principal & Chief Executive Officer, together with members of the College's management and staff.

They commended the long-standing and fruitful partnership between Rwanda and Utalii College in hospitality and tourism sectors, and discussed ways to further deepen cooperation in areas of shared interests.
