Kenya School of Law – Paralegal Training Programme (PTP).
The Paralegal Training Programme (PTP) is a Diploma in Law programme offered by the Kenya School of Law pursuant to its mandate under the Kenya School of Law Act, Cap. 16C, to provide para-legal and specialized legal training. The programme equips learners with practical legal knowledge and skills for careers in the justice sector and related fields
How do I apply for the Paralegal Training Programme?
Applications are submitted online through:
• The Kenya School of Law application portal: http://applications.ksl.ac.ke/
• The KUCCPS portal.
Is the programme offered on a full-time or part-time basis?
The programme is offered on both:
• Full-time basis; and
• Part-time basis.
Part-time classes are conducted during weekday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Do you offer online training?
Yes. The Kenya School of Law offers both:
• Physical classes; and
• Online learning options.
Physical classes are available at:
• Karen Campus – Langata South Road; and
• Town Campus – Development House, 5th and 6th Floors, Moi Avenue, Nairobi CBD.
Online evening classes are also available.
What are the admission requirements for the PTP programme?
For admission into the Diploma in Law (Paralegal Studies), an applicant must satisfy any one of the following requirements:
1. A mean grade of C (Plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent, with at least a C+ (Plus) in either English or Kiswahili;
2. At least one Principal Pass in the Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE);
3. A pass in a Certificate in Law course from an accredited legal education provider; or
4. A Certificate of Experiential Learning issued by the Council of Legal Education (CLE).
Note:
Applicants holding secondary school qualifications other than those awarded by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) must obtain equation from the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA).
How long is the Paralegal Training Programme?
The PTP takes two (2) academics years. There is a 3 months attachment period at the end of the second year. The training consists of:
• Three (3) academic terms per year;
• Each term lasting twelve (12) weeks; and
• A mandatory three (3)-month attachment at the end of the second year.
When do applications open?
Applications usually open after the release of KCSE results, with classes commencing in May each year.

• The School’s official social media platforms.

Graduates of the programme may work as:
• Paralegals;
• Legal clerks;
• Legal assistants;
• Legal secretaries;
• Process servers;
• Research assistants; and
• Administrators.
Employment opportunities exist in:
• Law firms;
• The Judiciary;
• Ministries and Government Departments;
• National and County Governments; and
• Other justice sector institutions.
What documents are required during application?
Applicants are required to submit:
1. A copy of the KCSE/KCE/KACE certificate or equivalent qualification;
o Result slips are only accepted for current-year KCSE candidates;
2. A copy of the National Identity Card; and
3. A recent passport-size colour photograph.
Is the PTP recognised and accredited?
Yes. The Paralegal Training Programme is offered by the Kenya School of Law and is accredited by the Council of Legal Education (CLE).
