The Authority has successfully concluded a nationwide clean cooking and clean energy sensitization campaign across four counties, engaging communities on the benefits of adopting cleaner, safer, and more affordable energy solutions such as improved jikos. Through public barazas and community forums, wananchi were sensitized on the critical link between clean cooking, better health outcomes, environmental conservation, and improved livelihoods.

We appreciate the collaboration and support extended by County Commissioners, County Governments, Kenya Power, community groups, and local stakeholders whose partnership played a key role in the success of the engagements across the counties visited.

The overwhelming public interest and positive reception witnessed throughout the campaign continue to demonstrate the growing demand for clean energy solutions at the grassroots level. Plans are already underway to extend the engagements to the remaining counties in the next financial year as we continue advancing the transition towards sustainable energy solutions for all.

Ironing is part of our everyday lives. Why not be more energy efficient while you are at it?

Start with heavy clothes, switch off the iron, and finish with lighter garments. Residual heat does the work at no extra cost.

Led by our Regional Manager – Coast, Francis Keri, our team today held a vibrant community engagement forum with residents of Minjila Location in Garsen Subcounty aimed at accelerating the adoption of clean cooking and clean energy solutions. The event was hosted by the Deputy County Commissioner, Tana Delta, Mr. Julius Ngetich, and attended by the Deputy County Commissioner, Kipini/Kokani, Mr. Ruphus Kihara, alongside other key stakeholders committed to advancing sustainable energy access within the community.

The sensitization forum was conducted in partnership with the Department of Energy – Tana River County under KOSAP, SNV, SunKing, SolarPanda, and Kenya Power. Residents had the opportunity to interact with and witness live demonstrations of improved jikos, solar technologies, and other innovative clean energy solutions designed to reduce indoor air pollution, lower energy costs, and minimize dependence on unsustainable fuel sources.

The engagement marks another important step in empowering communities with practical, affordable, and sustainable energy alternatives while strengthening partnerships that will drive the transition to a cleaner, healthier, and more energy-secure future for Tana River County.
