𝗕𝗥𝗦 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗨𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀, 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀

As part of its social responsibility and community outreach initiatives, BRS, in partnership with the Kakamega Forest Heritage Foundation, visited Ushindi and Precious Virginia Children’s Homes in Kakamega County on 6 June 2026.

During the visit, BRS and the partners donated essential items aimed at supporting the welfare and well-being of vulnerable children under the care of the two institutions.

The visit provided an opportunity for BRS staff to interact with the children, offer psychosocial support, and participate in activities designed to foster inclusion, care, and hope. Through this engagement, BRS reaffirmed its commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society and contributing to the development of resilient and inclusive communities.

The initiative underscored the Service’s belief that collective action and strategic partnerships play a vital role in improving the lives of children and promoting social well-being. The children, caregivers, and management of both homes expressed their sincere appreciation for the support and generosity extended by BRS, noting that such contributions significantly enhance the quality of life and care provided to the children.

This visit reflects BRS’s ongoing commitment to creating a positive social impact through meaningful community engagement, partnerships, and support programmes that uplift and empower vulnerable communities.

𝗕𝗥𝗦 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲-𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗴𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁

In commemoration of World Environment Day, themed “A Global Call for Climate Action,” which emphasizes accelerating urgent climate solutions, restoring ecosystems, and advancing a sustainable, climate-resilient future, BRS, in partnership with the Kakamega Forest Heritage Foundation, conducted a tree-growing exercise in Kakamega Forest. This initiative contributed to the national target of growing 15 billion trees by 2032.

As part of its environmental sustainability agenda and the Tree Growing and Restoration Campaign, BRS donated 5,000 indigenous tree seedlings to support the Foundation’s mission of preserving, protecting, and restoring Kakamega Forest while promoting sustainable livelihoods for communities that depend on the forest ecosystem.

The exercise brought together a diverse range of stakeholders, including government agencies, educational institutions, community-based organizations, and local residents, demonstrating a shared commitment to environmental conservation and climate action.

It has been a gruelling yet deeply fulfilling three-week journey engaging entrepreneurs and Kenyans from all walks of life from the vibrant plains of Eldoret, the lakeside charm of Kisumu, the breathtaking highlands of Laikipia, the green serenity of Embu, the fast-paced energy of Nairobi, all the way to the warm coastal breeze of Kenya’s Coast region.

The 𝗕𝗥𝗦 𝗕𝗶𝘇 𝗠𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻𝗶 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 has been more than just a caravan on the move, it has been a movement of empowerment, awareness, and opportunity.

Across towns, markets, biashara centres, and communities, the roadshow not only created awareness about BRS but also inspired hope, sparked conversations, and delivered messages that resonated with aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike. The message was clear: formalization is not just a process, it is a gateway to growth, credibility, protection, and opportunity.

The reception from Kenyans has been phenomenal, and the feedback overwhelmingly encouraging. Now, together, let us continue walking the path of formalization and economic empowerment.

We documented countless real-life success stories from entrepreneurs who chose to formalize their businesses: stories of accessing county government tenders, supplying stationery to learning institutions, winning contracts to supply groceries, and unlocking opportunities that once seemed out of reach.

These are not just stories; they are testimonies of transformation.

Over 3,000 kilometres covered, unforgettable engagements created, and lives impacted, with the grand final stop in Likoni marking the climax of an incredible nationwide journey.
