PAA Party and the 2022 General Elections: A Strong Start for a New Political Force
The Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) performance in the 2022 General Elections was not only impressive — it was instructive. A new political party that successfully fielded over 200 aspirants nationwide, signaling early organizational strength and national reach.
This newly national party entered a crowded political field dominated by long-established parties with deep networks, resources, and historical loyalty.
Against all odds, the PAA party translated participation into actual electoral victories, securing both electoral and nomination slots across the Country, most of which were along the Kenyan Coast, where PAA has its roots.
At the national level, PAA also produced three Members of Parliament in Kinango, Ganze, and Rabai constituencies. For a party contesting its first general election, this alone places PAA above the category of trial or experimental parties.
This in itself was a bold statement because that was a feat only a few parties have managed to pull off. PAA was winning big, and it had proven to be the party that resonated with Wananchi across all levels of leadership. It was a sign that the Kenyan electorate had resonated well with the party's values, beliefs, and vision for Kenya.
One of the strongest indicators of PAA’s credibility is its geographical spread. The party elected leaders not only on the Coast but also in Western Kenya, including Kakamega County. This directly challenges the narrative that PAA is a regional or “village” party. By law, no political party in Kenya can be registered without a national character, and PAA met—and exceeded—this threshold from the start.
As we gear towards the 2027 general elections, one thing stands out clearly: PAA will not back down, it will only get bigger. Over the last few years, the party has proven that it is a well structured, growing political vehicle with grassroots support, elected leadership, and a future trajectory.
The party has been regrouping and mobilising more supporters to rally behind it for a common cause. For a new party, PAA is not as a participant — it has announced its arrival, its readiness to shake things up and take the old guards down.
