Likoni Ward has become very difficult whenever it rains. What has made things worse is this contractor who dug up roads and drainage channels but has not completed the work for almost two years now, even though he had promised to finish within one year. Another problem is that he did not involve the local residents, such as community committees. The money had already been provided by the World Bank, yet no leader has ever visited or followed up on the project. It is clear that corruption has taken place.
People of Likoni, this time let us stay alert when choosing our leaders. Let us not accept imposed or handpicked leaders, because there will be no development—only the powerful will enrich themselves. Your vote is your weapon for development.
