PUBLIC PARTICIPATION ON THE REHABILITATION OF MACHAKOS CBD SEWER LINE.

Earlier today, a Public Participation forum was held to discuss the rehabilitation of a section of the Machakos Central Business District (CBD) sewer line at Machakos Town.

Community members and stakeholders were invited to provide input and feedback on the proposed project, ensuring that the rehabilitation efforts address the needs and concerns of the residents. This initiative aims to enhance the sewer infrastructure, improve sanitation, and promote sustainable urban development in Machakos.

Governor H.E. Hon Wavinya Ndeti, EGH, is keen on ensuring the welfare of her people by prioritizing such critical infrastructure projects, aiming to enhance the sewer infrastructure, improve sanitation, and promote sustainable urban development in Machakos County.

THE OPEN GOVERNMENT PARTNERSHIP (OGP) COLLABORATION.

The Open Government Partnership (OGP) recently recognized Machakos County for its efforts in enhancing transparency and accountability in governance through active public participation forums.

This week, OGP had the pleasure of hosting Madam Mercy Mutua, Chief Officer of Administration and Decentralized Units, and Mr. Bruce Isika, Chief Officer of Innovation and Industrialization, to explore Machakos County's involvement in OGP reforms and discuss future collaborations with the Office of the Governor.

Governor H.E. Wavinya Ndeti, EGH, is committed to fostering initiatives that boost transparency and accountability, driving the county's development forward.

MACHAKOS COUNTY ACKNOWLEDGED AS A JURISDICTION BY OGP.

Open Government Partnership (OGP) has acknowledged Machakos County's endeavors in enhancing transparency and accountability in governance through dynamic public participation forums held consistently over the years.

Machakos is one of 55 jurisdictions selected by OGP for a five-year program aimed at bolstering open governance and citizen participation through various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).

Appreciation goes to Mr. Bruce Isika, Chief Officer Public Participation, Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Madam Mercy Mutua, Chief Officer County Administration and Decentralized Units, and the dedicated members of staff from Devolution and Public Communications for the team's individual and collective contributions.

At daybreak, representatives from Machakos Municipality, the County Administration and Decentralized Units, Public Participation, Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Area MCA, GDU Team, along with GeoDev Kenya Ltd, gathered with stakeholders and residents from diverse backgrounds, eagerly ready to participate in the public consultations regarding the formulation of Machakos Municipality's integrated development plan.

FORMULATION OF MACHAKOS MUNICIPALITY INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PLAN.

KATOLONI COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL - MUVUTI/KIIMA KIMWE WARD.

This morning, the Machakos Municipality Team, along with the County Administration and Decentralized Units Team and the Department of Public Participation Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Team, collaborated with GeoDev Kenya Ltd consultants to hold a public meeting at Katoloni Comprehensive School in Muvuti/Kimakimwe Ward. The purpose was to discuss the formulation of the Machakos Municipality Integrated Development Plan.

Stakeholder input is essential for this development plan. Engaging residents, businesses, community groups, and others ensures that the plan reflects a variety of perspectives, priorities, and local aspirations. This inclusive process promotes transparency, accountability, and community support, resulting in more effective and sustainable development efforts.

GeoDev Kenya Ltd brings expertise in urban planning and as consultants, they provide valuable insights, technical support and guidance throughout the planning stages, ensuring that the development plan aligns with best practices and addresses the municipality's specific needs and challenges.

FORMULATION OF MACHAKOS MUNICIPALITY INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PLAN.

ASSISTANT CHIEF'S OFFICE - MUNG'ALA, MUMBUNI NORTH WARD.

Success is rooted in forward-thinking planning. Planning is a cornerstone of the County's achievements.

This morning, a collaborative effort between the County Public Participation, Citizen Engagement, and Customer Service Team, the Machakos Municipality Team, and the County Administration and Decentralized Units Team, alongside GeoDev Kenya Ltd, Stakeholders and Assistant Chiefs from Mumbuni North Ward, conducted a public participation exercise. The primary goal was to gather input for the integrated development plan for Machakos Municipality.

Stakeholders were actively involved in gathering data and providing their valuable input and feedback across all sectors critical to the development of the Municipality.

Governor Hon Wavinya Ndeti, EGH, has played a pivotal role in driving the development of Machakos County, aiming for the prosperity of its residents.

MEETING ON MACHAKOS MUNICIPALITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN.

The Department of Public Participation, Citizen Engagement, and Customer Service, within the Ministry of Devolution, played a pivotal role today in a public engagement forum held at the Machakos Social Hall.

The main objective was to gather input for the Integrated Development Plan for Machakos Municipality. In the initial phase of the session, stakeholders were actively engaged to gather data and seek their valuable insights and feedback across all sectors crucial to the municipality's development.

Noteworthy participants included officers from the Public Participation, Citizen Engagement, and Customer Service team, stakeholders, Ward Coordinators and Ward Administrators.

A heartfelt thank you to H.E Governor Hon Wavinya Ndeti EGH, for her dedication and commitment to making sure projects are overseen in the municipalities.
