UPDATE: KANU National Chairperson Hon. Gideon K. Moi has asked Baringo residents to forgive him for trusting President William Ruto's promises and opting out of last year's senatorial by-election.
Speaking during a meeting with representatives of Kalenjin sub-tribes, elders and opinion leaders at his Kabarak home on Friday, Moi reflected on his political decisions as he consulted the leaders on his political future.
The former Baringo Senator also accused President Ruto of targeting him and his family over the Standard Group, alleging that the media house's editorial independence was being used as a pretext for political pressure.
Moi maintained that his family is not the only shareholder in the Standard Group, questioning why they were being singled out.
The meeting formed part of consultations on his political direction ahead of the 2027 General Election.
