We feel empowered and honored as the Trans Nzoia Youth Living With Disability team after joining fellow filmmakers to discuss Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) at Deep Sea Hotel, Kitale.

The Disability Network of Trans Nzoia today held a constructive engagement with the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health to address critical issues affecting persons with disabilities (PWDs) within the county. The discussion centered on access to and health services, strengthening the availability and quality of assistive devices and related technologies, and identifying practical ways to support the specific needs of PWDs. Both parties acknowledged the existing gaps and emphasized the importance of collaboration in creating sustainable solutions. It was agreed that the engagement should be broadened to include more ,such as other government departments, development partners, National Council for Person With Disability (NCPWDs),NGOs and organizations working in the disability,to enhance impact and promote longterm sustainability. The meeting concluded with a commitment to keep the process open for new partnerships and continued dialogue aimed at improving the overall of persons with disabilities in Trans Nzoia County.

The was celebrated at St. Francis Kapkoi parish in Waitaluk Ward, Kiminini Sub-County, bringing together persons with disabilities, caregivers, religious leaders, office of NCPWDs and community. The event focused on promoting , , and for persons living with disabilities.
During the event, the Chairperson of the Disability Mr. Ojiambo expressed sincere gratitude to the Catholic Church for its continuous and . He noted that the Church has consistently played a key role in caring for persons with disabilities, reflecting true service and commitment to humanity.
In his address, the Chairperson urged the disability community to embrace and work in improving their lives. He encouraged persons with disabilities to engage in productive activities that economic empowerment and overdependence. He emphasized that every individual has and should be to contribute meaningfully to their livelihood.
He also raised serious concern about the increasing cases of affecting persons with disabilities especially children with disability.He highlighted that many silently in the hands of relatives, neighbors, and even those trusted to care for them. He called on the community to strongly oppose and report all forms of -based violence against children and adults with disabilities.

A meeting was held with disability leaders from Kiinyoro Disability Group and Disability Group in Kinyoro Ward, Mabonde. The engagement provided an opportunity to discuss key issues affecting persons with disabilities within the ward.
The discussion focused on the following thematic areas:
The County Disability and its implementation at the community level.

2day marks $Hydrocephalus Awareness Day, a day dedicated 2 increasing understanding, , $ celebrating de strength $ resilience of individuals living with these conditions.
Individuals affected by Spina Bifida $ Hydrocephalus often face unique challenges in their daily lives. Despite these obstacles, they continue 2 inspire their communities thro optimism, creativity, $ advocacy.
De day serves not only as a call 4 but also for . Advocates emphasized de importance of ensuring dat every child has access 2 , , $ . Building communities dat embrace diversity $ supporting research $ technology aimed at improving quality of life remain key priorities.
During de event, de County Disability Chairman Mr.Opiss urged de County government 2 invest in technology $ research dat will enable early intervention $ effective follow-up 4 individuals living wid disabilities. He further challenged de County 2 develop a County Disability Policy 2 guide resource allocation $ ensure sustainable support 4 persons wid disabilities. Such a policy, he noted, would help streamline programs, promote , $ strengthen de of people wid disabilities in all aspects of County development.
