In liaison with the Office of the MCA, the Office of the Village Administrator through the Ward Administrator's Office, has today commissioned the impending fencing and completion of Angola Market shade.

*NEW YEAR'S MESSAGE FROM THE MCA*

Worthy residents of Kolwa East, 2020 has come to its predetermined end, it has been a year of immeasurable challenges to most of us. A year in which we saw many losing their precious lives in the wake of strange pandemic which carried in itself the perils that either affected all of us directly or indirectly.

And in our prayers shall remain the loving memories of all the souls that have left us in this mysterious year 2020. Good riddance 2020!

I therefore take my earliest opportunity to wish you all the very best of everything in the New Year 2021 which carries in itself the prospect of relief and prosperity to all of us.

May the gracious benediction of the Most High Lord be with us all as we usher in the New Year. And may our gratitude for His unfailing protection never waver for all the days of our lives.

STEVE OWITI FOUNDATION in partnership with Ida Odinga Trust had the honour of hosting 200 girls from all corners of Kolwa East Ward in pursuit of the campaign to safeguard the welfare of the girlchild.

Our girls had the singular privilege of receiving life skills training and the basic necessities of the girlchild. The morals of our society is firm when the welfare of the girlchild is not taken for granted.

COUNTY BUDGET REVIEW AND OUTLOOK FY 2019/2020

IN PURSUANT to Section 118 of the Public Financial Management Act 2012, this review is focused on the fiscal year ending 30th June 2020.

The following is a list of projects undertaken in the last fiscal year.

1. Proposed Completion of Obino Dispensary - Phase two, complete.

2.Proposed Construction of Maternity & Ward at Chiga - Phase one, complete.

3.Ofunyu-Buoye Pipeline Extension - Project ongoing.

4.Proposed completion of Omung'i ECDE classrooms - Project ongoing.

5.Proposed Completion of Angola Market Shade & 4 Door Pit Latrine - Phase two complete.

6.Proposed completion of Anywang' ECDE classroom - Project not done.

7.Improvement of Rabuor-Angola Juncton Access Road - Project complete.

8.Improvement of Kolewe-Chiga Access Road - Project complete.

9.Proposed repair of Angola Social Hall - Project ongoing.

10.Box culvert Bridge at Obuso-Orongo - Project ongoing

11.Gravelling of Namba Orongo-Nyayo Road - Project complete.

The FY 2019/2020 was faced with several challenges like the outbreak of Covid-19 Pandemic, which led to the reallocation of funds to control the virus and also cushion vulnerable families across the county.

Let's now focus on the upcoming projects in the next fiscal year 2020/2021.

BASED ON HOLISTIC ANALYSIS on the general performance of Kisumu County Wards, both the CPS Research International and Stratergic Insight, both of which are certified members of Marketing and Social Research Association of Kenya (MSRAK), place Kolwa East Ward at No.4 out of the 35 Kisumu County wards.

The researches were conducted randomly between the months of May and July 2020.

VERY SINCERE CONDOLENCES to the families of Thardeus Ochieng Onditi and Dennis Ochieng Obam who lost their lives painfully due to sand mining accident in Anywang' village.

We continue to stand in solidarity with the bereaved families in these difficult times.

CHANGE OF GUARD

KOLWA EAST WARD has received a new Ward Administrator following a major county reshuffle by the Directorate of Administration in Kisumu County.

Mr.Richard Ogira had this morning handed over office to the incoming Ward Administrator, Mr.Lucianus Kelly Mwamba, who is expected to carry forward the implementation agenda in liaison with the office of the MCA under successive administrations.
