Let no one mislead the people by claiming that he alone has brought development to my ward. It is important to understand the roles and responsibilities of leadership.

If you are working as an administrator, remember that you work under the leadership of the area MCA. I am the elected leader responsible for coordinating and following up on development matters within my ward.

Stop spreading rumours and creating the impression that you are the sole person responsible for development. Whenever a letter is written or a proposal is submitted to the County Government concerning development in my ward, I am the person who is expected to provide leadership, respond to the issues raised, and follow up on the implementation.

You may write letters and make suggestions, and that is within your responsibility, but writing alone does not mean that development has been implemented. Development requires proper leadership, coordination, follow-up, and actual implementation.

Let us respect our different roles, work together, and give the people accurate information instead of taking credit for work that is being coordinated through the leadership of the ward.

Today, we stood with the family of the late Mama Monica Akelo during this difficult time of loss. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may God grant the family strength, comfort, and peace as they mourn her passing.

Later, we also stood with the family of Gabriel Onoka Watata, who sadly lost his beloved daughter. We joined them in funeral arrangements and fundraising efforts as they prepare to lay their daughter to rest.

During these difficult moments, we continue to stand together with our community, offering our support, prayers, and solidarity to the bereaved families. May God comfort them and give them strength during this challenging period.

STANDING WITH OUR BUSINESS COMMUNITY AT OTONGLO

Today, we stood together with our business men and women at Otonglo following a devastating fire incident that caused significant damage to their businesses. The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault when power was restored.

A lot of goods, property, and valuable items were destroyed, leaving the affected traders counting heavy losses. We stand with them during this difficult moment and encourage them not to lose hope as they work towards rebuilding their businesses and livelihoods.

Our thoughts and support remain with all those affected by this unfortunate incident.

CENTRAL KISUMU WARD DECLARES SUPPORT FOR HON. ROSA BUYU

Today, we met as ODM delegates to deliberate on the future of our party and Kisumu County. As delegates from Central Kisumu Ward, we proudly declared our support for our mother, Hon. Rosa Buyu, as our preferred candidate for the Kisumu County Governor seat in 2027 under the ODM Party.

We stand united in supporting Hon. Rosa Buyu and believe in her leadership, vision, and ability to serve the people of Kisumu County.

Yesterday, the Kisumu County Valuer visited and surveyed the piece of land that the I committed to purchase for the people of Ngege Beach.

The exercise was successfully conducted, with the BMU Chairperson, Sir Odera, accompanying the valuation team throughout the site visit and witnessing the survey process.

This marks an important step towards the realization of the proposed land acquisition, which is intended to benefit the Ngege Beach community. We appreciate the cooperation of everyone involved and remain committed to ensuring the process is completed successfully for the benefit of the people.

OTONGLO MARKET SEPTIC TANK PROJECT OFFICIALLY HANDED OVER TO THE CONTRACTOR

Good people of Central Kisumu Ward,

We are pleased to inform you that today, the Otonglo Market septic tank project has officially been handed over to the contractor for implementation under my leadership.
This marks another important milestone in our commitment to improving sanitation, creating a cleaner market environment, and enhancing public health for traders, customers, and the entire community.

We thank all residents for their continued support, patience, and cooperation as this important development gets underway. We kindly request everyone to support the contractor and allow the work to proceed smoothly for the benefit of all.

This morning, I had the pleasure of visiting St. Williams Comprehensive School, one of the oldest private educational institutions in Central Kisumu Ward.

I was impressed by the school's remarkable progress, commitment to academic excellence, and the discipline demonstrated by both the learners and the teaching staff. For many years, St. Williams Comprehensive School has played a vital role in shaping the future of our children by providing quality education and nurturing responsible citizens.

I commend the school's management, teachers, parents, and students for their dedication and hard work, which have enabled the institution to maintain its good reputation over the years.

As your MCA, I remain committed to supporting education initiatives and working closely with all learning institutions to create a better future for our children. Together, we will continue investing in education because it is the foundation of a prosperous and successful community.

Today we give thanks to Kenya Railways team for visiting our community and engaging us in an open and transparent discussion regarding the proposed construction of the new Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) route that will pass through our ward.

The meeting provided an important opportunity for the community to understand the vision behind this national development project. We discussed the expected benefits, including improved transport infrastructure, increased business opportunities, job creation, and enhanced economic growth for our region and the country at large.

At the same time, we openly discussed the concerns affecting residents living along the proposed railway corridor. Community members raised issues regarding land acquisition, compensation, possible displacement, environmental impacts, access to social amenities, and the need to protect livelihoods. These concerns were carefully listened to by the Kenya Railways officials, who assured residents that the project will be implemented in accordance with the law and that every affected perso implementation process. Development is important, but it must be carried out with fairness, transparency, and respect for the rights and welfare of every resident.

The County Assembly is set to conduct public participation on the Kisumu County Education and Social Protection Fund Bill, 2026 (County Assembly Bills No.2 of 2026) and the Kisumu County Gender and Equity Bill, 2026 (County Assembly Bills No.3 of 2026).

The Kisumu County Education and Social Protection Fund Bill, 2026 aims to provide a legal framework for the establishment and management of a fund to advance the progressive realization of the right to education, as guaranteed under Articles 43(1)(f) and 53(1)(b) of the Constitution, for vulnerable students in Kisumu County.

On the other hand, the Kisumu County Gender and Equity Bill, 2026 provides for the management and administration of gender affairs in Kisumu County by promoting the progressive realization of gender equity, institutionalize gender-responsive governance, and ensure equitable access to opportunities and services in all sectors of Kisumu County Government.
