Yesterday together with H E Governor Gideon Maitha Mungaro and Sokoni Ward MCA Hon. Ray Katana Dogo, we held a consultative meeting with residents of Kiwandani over the ongoing land dispute surrounding the Kiwandani Airstrip.

I assured the residents that no one will be evicted from this land, which is home to over 6,000 Kilifians. The government is already working on a solution to facilitate the purchase of the land from the alleged owner to secure the community.

Together we will also engage H.E. President William Samoei Ruto to fast-track this process.

As leaders, we remain committed to protecting our people, resolving land disputes, and ensuring security of tenure for our communities.

STATEMENT ON THE SKIRMISHES BETWEEN BODA BODA RIDERS AND POLICE OFFICERS AND KILLINGS OF INNOCENT CIVILIANS IN KILIFI TOWN.
1. I am deeply saddened and grieved by the loss of innocent lives felled by police bullets during the demonstrations in kilifi town yesterday. I strongly condemn the use of live bullets by the police and strong arm tactics used.
2. I am also deeply saddened by the Killings of innocents Boda Boda riders by a criminal gang suspected to be led by one Kalume Diga
3. I condole with the families and pay my deepest respects to the departed. My heart bleeds at the happenings.
4. I want to categorically disassociate myself from one Kalume Diga who is suspected to be behind the robbery and killings of Boda Boda riders and state as follows. Kalume Diga is a neighbour at my Mwezangombe home and his family live a walking distance from my home.
5. Kalume Diga worked in my office from 2018- 2022. I fired Kalume Diga because he stole items from my office and threatened my office staff because they reported him to me.
6. I banned him from ever stepping at my home or gate because he threatened one of my home staff who had refused him from entering my compound. A ban which still stands upto today
7. Kalume Diga does not have any working, cordial relationship or enjoy any protection from me in whichever way and he must be brought to book for his atrocities.
8. Those spreading rumours and maligning my name about a conjectured relationship with Kalume Diga should be ashamed of themselves. How do I protect someone who my family has been afraid of such that we had to bring police protection to my compound something I had never done because of him?
9. The political machinations being used to destroy my name during this sad moment will fall flat.
10. There is one thing you can never associate me with; Criminals, Gangs or any form of political thuggery or political protection of criminals, killers or thugs.
11. I want to inform the young people in kilifi. I am not hidding Kalume Diga or harboring him anywhere. There is no way I can do that to a person who threatens my family.
12. The police confirmed to me yesterday that they have arrested him and he is assisting them with information to arrest his associates who are part of a gang who have been stealing motor bikes and Killing innocent young people.
13. At this moment I call for peace and calm. Let the law take its course and allow the police to arrest all these killers once and for all
