Karinga Hoiyee…
Kīgumo Hoiyee…
Tata here.
Dropping by to say a hello and to celebrate the dreams we conjured up together some more than 5 years ago.
Remember?
Yes you do….
And yes — we put this critical spur road one of the busiest feeder road in Kīgumo as a link road to the Mau Mau. Recall our fight with the KeNHA Engineers at Karandi during the site visit by contractors?
Yes you do….,
We see the reward of our incessant prayers, our knocking of doors, pleading for help at every stop, ensuring this road and other critical ones still pending — are included as part of Maumau and that they are eventually done. We give God all the glory for His mercies endured forever. Gone is the Panadols we used to take due to the stress of the rough road and dust during dry season, and getting stuck in the mud when the rains came. Let us not forget the Mununga -Gacharage - Kamukabi road — one of the best ever roads where the contractors used cement to help the road weather the heavy downpour that we experience this part of Kīgumo. I dropped here to say thank you for your love your support your prayers your encouragement as we nurtured this projects and ensured they were factored in the national MTEF budget cycles. Keep praying because there still remains other critical Maumau spur roads that are yet to be done. Let’s meet our challenges big or small on our knees.

Aerial shots of the imposing KANGARĨ Modern Market!
For me — THIS is a dream come true. When u first shared the architectural design to the people of Kīgumo— that was looking almost like a pipe dream. I’m grateful to God that the market is now complete and I hope the cold storage to take care of our perishable flori and horticultural products, are in place. We in the past incurred losses of our fresh produce due to lack of cold aggregation centers for our value crops.
Those from Kangarĩ may perhaps recall that I went flat out to remind NG to do this market in memory of my late mother who brought us up selling fresh produce to Marigiti and what remained would be sold in Kangarĩ open air retail market. That time there was grass and so the cabbages or tomatoes won’t get muddy cos of the green grass. Years later I came back home to see the market was all muddy and traders struggling with their produce due to lack of a modern aggregation center.
KĪGUMO over to you now. We must do what we always wanted to do, PRODUCE for EXPORTS. May God help us all
As we seek to realize this dream.

John 14:13 (ESV)
Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

With Sylvester Kasuku the CEO of LAPPSET in one of my final assignments in UK as CEO of Exports Promotion Council of Kenya 🇰🇪. It was a great honor to sell / market Kenya, its unique products and services to the world.

The Modern Kangarĩ Market in Kīgumo Constituency offers a strong foundation towards making Kangarĩ Municipality, a commercial hub — not just for the Kīgumo people but the surrounding areas of Kandara, Gatanga and Njabini in Kinangop Constituency. Once the Maumau roads are complete, the dream of spurring retail and wholesale trade of fresh vegetables, dairy and poultry products will become a reality. The target is to encourage the residents to grow high value and medicinal crops like okra, rosemary, oregano, fennel, Chillies, pak choi, artichokes, vanilla, and other herbs like dill, sage, basil, fenugreek, rocket, mint; with a harvest of every 2-3 months; for export markets. This will not only improve the social-economic lives of the people, but will in addition help attract foreign exchange earnings for our Country. The World Bank long projected that the route to get Kenya’s economy grow in double digits is through targeted agriculture and agri-processing for local regional and international markets.
It is hoped that the envisaged cold storage that are part of this market will be completed to provide aggregation of export produce of value crops from the Kangarĩ to Export destinations.
Let us make Kīgumo great for Kenya for the World.
And it is possible.
Yawezekana
