Child in Family Focus Child in Family Focus is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that champions family based care for orphaned & vulnerable children through care reform.

We are dedicated to ensuring that all children grow up in caring and loving families as opposed to institutions (Children Homes). The three core pillars of our work are care reform advocacy, governance monitoring as well as actual de-institutionalization efforts. We are committed to completely eradicating or reducing considerable the reliance on institutions (Children Homes) for the care and prote

ction of children in favour of family/community strengthening, kinship care, foster care and adoption. At Child in Family Focus, all is done to God’s glory and honor. Pressing towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3: 14)

As we mark this day, we are reminded that supporting families is essential to protecting children and building healthier, more equitable communities. Every child deserves dignity, care, belonging, and the opportunity to flourish within a loving family environment.

Many children need safe, loving homes. Foster care gives children the chance to grow up with belonging, care, and stability within a family environment.

This foster care awareness campaign explores why family-based care matters and how ordinary families can help change a child’s story. It also highlights the foster care journey in Kenya, including who can apply and the steps involved in becoming a foster parent.

The video was produced by Zaidi ya Dreams in collaboration with Child in Family Focus (CFFK) and the State Department for Children Services.

From 22nd–24th April 2026, we joined stakeholders for a consultative workshop convened by the State Department for Children Services at Nairobi Safari Club. The workshop was meant to strengthen the implementation of the National Policy on Family Promotion and Protection.

Over three days, participants worked together to refine tools, review progress, and align on next steps toward stronger family systems.

Indeed children are protected when families are strong.

We remain committed to advancing care reform through collaboration and shared learning.
