In Kiambu County, our healthcare workers drawn from different sub Counties are actively taking the lead in equipping members of the public with critical knowledge and skills on Ebola preparedness and response.

Through robust Risk Communication strategies, community sensitization, outreach activities, and Community Engagement forums, they are educating residents on prevention, early detection, and appropriate response measures.

These efforts ensure that accurate, timely, and actionable information reaches the public and encouraging active participation in preparedness activities.

The county continues to strengthen these frontline efforts to enhance surveillance, infection prevention and control, and rapid response mechanisms, all while prioritizing transparent communication and collaborative community involvement.

The County Health Management Team (CHMT), led by CECM Health Dr Elias Maina, today conducted a supervisory visit to Tigoni Level 4 Hospital to assess preparedness on matters related to Ebola Virus Disease.

The visit focused on evaluating the facilities’ readiness in surveillance, infection prevention and control, case management, and emergency response systems.

As a Kiambu County Government-Kenya we are leaving no stone unturned to ensure our citizens are safe and access quality Health care incase of any outbreak.

The Kiambu County Government-Kenya MPDSR Committee, led by the County Director of Health Dr. Hillary Kagwa held a consultative meeting with the University Teaching Research and Referral hospital management and MPDSR Committee led by the CEO, Dr. Zeinab Gura.

The main agenda of the meeting was to align collaboration in Maternal and Newborn health for patients referred out of Kiambu County for continuity of care at KUTRRH.

The two teams agreed to mandatory joint reviews for all maternal and newborn near misses and mortalities, and regular scheduled feedback meetings to update the county on outcomes of referred patients.

The County Government of Kiambu reitarates its commitment to ending preventable maternal and newborn deaths, and to account for every pregnant woman and her newborn, including those referred outside the county.
