The County Government of Kiambu, through the Department of Land, Housing, Physical Planning, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, today convened a stakeholders' meeting to present and validate the completed Kiambu County Spatial Plan (2026โ2036).
The forum, graced by H.E. Governor Dr. Kimani Wamatangi and H.E. Deputy Governor Rosemary Kirika, brought together key stakeholders from National and County government institutions, including land administration agencies, the Kenya Roads Board, Environmental bodies, Water resource management, the Kenya Institute of Planners, among other development partners, to provide technical input on the completed draft plan.
The plan was developed by the County Government of Kiambu in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), ensuring that the planning process incorporated global best practices, stakeholder participation, and sustainable development principles.
Prepared in accordance with the Physical and Land Use Planning Act (PLUPA), 2019, the ten-year Spatial Plan will provide a comprehensive framework to guide sustainable physical development, land use management, infrastructure planning, environmental conservation, and investment across Kiambu County.
The stakeholder engagement forum marks a significant milestone in the county's planning process, ensuring that the final plan reflects expert recommendations and aligns with Kiambu's vision for orderly, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development.
