Today ,Dr. Paul Sanga ,Chief Officer for Agriculture and Cooperative Development, officially launched the countywide digital soil sampling exercise under the National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP), implemented by the Department of Agriculture and Cooperative Development in partnership with KALRO.
The exercise will cover all 30 wards and aims to generate accurate, data-driven soil information to support evidence-based planning, appropriate fertilizer use, and climate-smart agriculture. Ahead of the rollout, agripreneurs and Ward Agricultural Officers were trained on digital soil sampling techniques, data collection, and quality assurance by KALRO experts.
The initiative is expected to improve productivity, reduce input costs, and promote sustainable land management, ultimately enhancing farmer livelihoods across the county.
