𝑳𝑼𝑺𝑨𝑲𝑨 𝑾𝑶𝑶𝑺 𝑪𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑬𝑺𝑬 𝑰𝑵𝑽𝑬𝑺𝑻𝑶𝑹𝑺.

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has encouraged the Chinese partners to harness the numerous investment opportunities in the County.

In his key note address during the China Jiangxi-Kenya Investment and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference at Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi, Lusaka noted that Bungoma is strategic and therefore well placed in terms of foreign investments.

"Bungoma is a frontier County in Western Kenya with proximity to Uganda and it is a gateway to East and Central Africa, bordering Busia, Kakamega and Trans-Nzoia Counties",He Said.

He highlighted potential areas of partnership, taking keen interest in Agriculture,Health, Infrastructure,Trade and Tourism among others.

"We have low hanging fruits in Bungoma that need to be tapped.I therefore urge you to extend your great pool of investments to this region ",He reiterated.

The governor further assured the partners of a conducive competitive investment environment, attributing this to the Kenya Kwanza administration and its bottom up transformational agenda.

"We are all driven by the urge to empower our people.The President's key agenda is to make the Country an industrialization hub by 2030 and so are County governments",He observed.

The meeting was graced and attended by the Principal Secretary State Department of Trade and Investment, Abubakar Hassan Abubakar,China Jiangxi investors, CECMs; Bonventure Chengeck (Roads),Caro Makali (Trade), Andrew Wamukoya (Economic Advisor), Government bodies among others.

Governor Kenneth Lusaka has implored Bungoma elected leaders to each focus on their mandate and allow him to deliver for the people.

Lusaka noted with concern the clash of roles, urging the leaders to stick to their jurisdiction and accord him ample time to run his administration.

"We were all elected into office to serve in different capacities. Each one of us should stick to their respective roles",He Said.

The governor further stated that the County Service Board is bound by the constitution to interview and select individuals on merit, and therefore, should not be interefered with.

"Allow the Public Service Board to deliver on the County Secretary position and give us a suitable candidate. Don't interfere the process",He reiterated.

In line with the ongoing government reforms aimed at stimulating business growth and bolstering economic independence across the country, Lake region counties have held the first ever Business ecosystem summit in Kisumu.

The Summit which brought together Governors from the 14 LREB Counties, Investment partners and the Business world aimed at unlocking the potential of collaborative networks and effectively navigating the dynamic shifts within various business landscapes in Lake region counties.

"As governors from the lake region, we are exploring strategic ways of forging partnerships to unlock the full potential of our businesses" Said Bungoma Governor Kenneth lusaka who is also the bloc's vice chair.

Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang Nyong'o who is the chair of the block said the summit serves as a catalyst for fostering innovation, driving economic growth, and creating harmonious collaborations.

"Together, we will explore strategies, to unlock the full potential of our business ecosystems. I call on all participants to join hands and embark on this transformative journey towards a prosperous future.” Said Nyong’o .

The governor added that LREB seeks within its mandate to enhance socio economic transformation of the bloc through leveraging on the economies of scale in its ecosystem.

In attendance were Governors: James Orengo(Siaya) Wilber Otichilo (Vihiga) Amos Nyaribo (Nyamira) and TransNzoia Deputy Governor Philomena Kapkory.
