Hon. Catherine Wambilianga’s Mbegu Mashinani Program is steadily expanding across the wards of Kanduyi Constituency.

Through the Mama Wambilianga Mbegu Mashinani initiative, her office has continued distributing maize seeds to widows and elderly residents, ensuring vulnerable groups are supported in food production efforts.

Beneficiaries in Kanduyi Ward include residents from Namirembe, Nalutiri, Kibabii C, Sio Area, Musikoma, and the Bukembe Market area villages, all of whom have received maize seeds under the program.

Hon. Wambilianga remains dedicated to empowering widows and the elderly to boost food security in Bungoma, with her office underscoring its commitment to delivering practical, impactful results.

Bungoma Woman Representative's Catherine Wambilianga Office Empowers Teen Mothers with Pads and Mentorship

The office of the Bungoma Woman Representative, Hon. Catherine Wambilianga, represented by Manager Selah Wanyonyi, joined teen mothers to celebrate their graduation from a one-year skills training program. The event, held at Sanandiki Friends Church, also featured the distribution of sanitary pads and a mentorship session to prepare the girls as they get ready to resume school.

The program, funded and implemented by Karibuni Kenya NGO under the leadership of CEO Terrie Wefwafwa, provided vital skills training to teenage girls from West Nalondo and Chwele Kabuchai Wards. In addition to the training, Karibuni Kenya NGO also provided the girls with assorted school items to support their transition back to school.

More than 200 young women graduated today—a powerful testament to how strategic partnerships can transform lives. This initiative is part of the broader Wambilianga Mbegu Mashinani program, which aims to empower vulnerable members of the community by providing them with essential planting materials. Bungoma Woman Representative Catherine Wambilianga has moved swiftly to secure a full year's school fees for Nyongesa Elen Nafula.

Elen, a student from Maraka Ward, earned a place at Pangani Girls National School but had been unable to attend. After her story was highlighted by NTV Kenya and other media outlets, it caught the attention of Wambilianga's office. Elen has now been included in the Wambilianga’s scholarship program.

Tomorrow, she will walk through the gates of Pangani Girls, finally able to access the same educational opportunities as her peers.

Bungoma Woman Representative Catherine Wambilianga presented a Ksh 100,000 NGAAF grant to the Rural Women Empowerment Network in Sioya Village, Kabula Ward. Speaking at a ceremony where the government disbursed a KSh. 230 million cheque to former workers, Wambilianga asked the leadership of investor Narendra Raval Rai to adopt an open hiring policy. She emphasized that women should be given the first priority for these jobs.

The government's payment marks a significant move toward resolving the long-standing arrears owed to the former employees, providing relief after years of difficulty following the factory's collapse.

Mulembe Women's Group in Bungoma Receives KSh 3.6 Million Grant for Empowerment

In a significant boost for local women, Bungoma Woman Representative Catherine Wambilianga presented a KSh 3.6 million NGAAF cheque to the Mulembe Women's Group to support their self-reliance projects.

Speaking in Webuye after a meeting with the group's leadership from all 36 wards, Wambilianga commended the members for their dedication in developing proposals. She expressed her satisfaction that 36 proposals from the Mulembe Women had been approved for funding.

Wambilianga clarified that the group plans to use the funds to purchase tents for a rental business, with the remaining portion allocated to their table banking initiative.

The Mulembe Women's Group Chairperson, Pamela Mutoro, expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Wambilianga for making their empowerment a reality through the NGAAF grant. She stated that this achievement proves Wambilianga's political rivals wrong, who had doubted such empowerment was possible.

Pamela emphasized that the Mulembe Women is now prepared to take their success story to the grassroots, ready to demonstrate Wambilianga's development record to her opponents in the villages.
