Our Town YOKOSUKA（Yokosuka City）

Yokosuka City is located on Miura peninsula, facing both Tokyo Bay and Sagami Bay. It enjoys a mild climate, with cool summers and warm winters. There is also an abundance of nature, with more park area per person than any other city in Kanagawa prefecture. The vibrant agriculture and fishing industries allow people to purchase fresh fish and vegetables each morning, creating a great food culture

for the area. Yokosuka City is also conveniently located, being only about 27 min. away from Yokohama by train, and about 44 min. from Shinagawa. In a survey taken among citizens, about 80% stated that they “want to continue living in Yokosuka.” This percentage is very high when compared to neighboring areas. We’d love to introduce more about the culture of Yokosuka City to you.

Kitakurihama Cherry Blossom Festival

See the Cherry blossoms and moss pink in the Kitakurihama area!
On April 6-7, 10am to 5pm, there will be a variety of activities such as local dance performances, a flea market, food and drink booths, and more!
During the duration of the event, there will also be a cherry blossom light-up until 9pm, every day until April 6!

Kinugasa Cherry Blossom Festival
Thu Mar 28 - Mon Apr 8

Celebrate springtime with the flowering cherry blossoms!
During this event duration on Sat. and Sun., enjoy dance, taiko drum, and other music performances!
View the cherry blossom light-up from 6pm to 8pm as well!

Yokosuka Kids Festival & Events

This festival is packed with a variety of fun activities that children and families can enjoy!
There will be games, a rideable pony, mini train ride, and more!

Listen to live music play throughout the city!
Talented musicians will play at venues around the Y Deck and LIDRE area!
Enjoy the music while you experience other activities in the area!

Yokosuka Bakery Festival
Sat Mar 23, 11am - 2pm

Enjoy freshly baked bread prepared by bakers from all around Yokosuka!
There will also be bread from Kure, Maizuru, and Sasebo, cities that share a Japan Heritage story with Yokosuka.
The bread sells out quickly, so come early!

Tsukayama Park Cherry Blossom Festival

See a thousand cherry blossom trees bloom while enjoying local festivities around this famous park!

Noguchi Hisamitsu: Cinematic Graphics
Special Exhibition

Noguchi, Hisamitsu (1909-1994) was a prolific artist who was best known for his works involving posters for European movies and designs for record jackets.
Take a step into the world of graphic design through a rich display of Noguchi's works.

Taura Plum Blossom Festival

You can learn all about local volunteer groups and NPOs at this fair!
Various activities such as panel exhibits, volunteer opportunity corners, a fundraising flea market, and food and drink booths will be available.
