Traditionally, Japanese households with daughters raise an elaborate red-cloth seven-tiered altar and decorate it with a set of 15 Gina dolls in celebration of Hinamatsuri. 🎎

This annual festival celebrates the health, happiness and good fortune of young girls and women represented in the sophisticated dolls adorned in ornate robes that symbolize the imperial court. ㊗️

The neighbourhood of Deai-no-Sato, located on the foothills of Hachi Highlands, has a tradition of celebrating this festival by displaying hundreds of dolls every year with the help of the local community.

The displays is a big attraction for its opulence and because visitors can purchase some of the dolls and decorations on sale. On weekends, the community group behind this event will also be selling their signature mochi products known throughout our region.

⛄️ Hachibuse Snow Festival ⛄️

The annual Hachibuse Snow Festival will be held on Saturday, March 1 at Hachikogen Ski Resort in Yabu. ❄️

Activities include snowmobile riding, mochi throwing game, and a design and music fireworks display in the evening.🎇

Come for our powder snow and be part of this fun day for your chance to win exciting prizes and enjoy the last weeks of ski season with fellow winter enthusiasts on the Hachi Highlands of Yabu!

📍 JA Tajima Livestock Market, Yabu City

One of the most anticipated events after the turn of the year is the first calf auction of Tajima cattle at the local Tajima Livestock Market.

The market is one of two markets in Hyogo Prefecture and the most important hub where local farmers convene every month.

Tajima cattle is the origin of the Japanese Black and the most strictly preserved lineage of all Wagyu.

Tajima cattle are reared with care, surrounded by lush nature in a quiet and stress-free environment on the rolling hills and pristine water sources of our region.
