Ring out the Old Year and ring in the New Year
The year 2018 is wearing away.
To Wakayama Park Zoo, the year 2018 has more natural disasters than normal years. Due to heavy rains, typhoons and earthquake, there were trees fell and broken branches scattered everywhere. The Wakayama Park Zoo was temporarily closed at the time for restoration. Luckily, there was no damage to animals.
2018 is also the 60th year of Wakayama Castle’s reconstruction. As there is still a little time of the year 2018, we as the staff of the Wakayama Park, and all the animals from the Wakayama Park Zoo are looking forward to visitors from all over the world come to visit us in the last few days of 2018.
On the morning, 10o' clock of December 28 Friday, we will decorate the gate of the Wakayama Castle tower to welcome the coming new year. When the decoration is taking place, the idols of the Wakayama Park Zoo, the two cute Kishu puppet “Ayame” and “Satsuki” will be there as well. Please come by and say hi to them♪
The Wakayama Park Zoo will be open during the New Year holiday!
