The Wakayama castle is historically famous for a living place where the Kishu Tokugawa, one of the three branches of Tokugawa clan, had lived around Edo period, and it is one of the popular sightseeing attractions in Wakayama. In spring, it will be the beauty spot that you could enjoy over 600 of cherry blossoms outbloomed around the castle!

~Blooming Daffodils at Wakayama Castle~

The residents living near Wakayama Castle have probably noticed already the early budding of daffodils.

At the Wakayama Castle, there are spots where you can view and appreciate the blossoming daffodils! The warm winter this year might have an effect on the daffodils’ early blooming.

The best time to view the daffodils around the vicinities of the northern main gate and Fukkozou (Lying Statue of the Tiger) is during mid-February. The daffodils at the Sannenzaka (sloped road) have started to bloom despite the worries brought about by the typhoon last year.

While appreciating the beauty of the budding daffodils surrounding the castle, please don’t miss the animals at the park too!
