The Ambassador-Designate and his team made a comprehensive presentation of Botswanaโ€™s National Development Plan 12 (NDP 12) and Botswanaโ€™s Economic Transformation Programme (BETP). The team focused on targeted investment and business opportunities in Botswana, including collaboration and capacity building in areas such as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

In particular, the possible export of Botswana beef was highly discussed, with the Governor offering valuable insights and guidance on possible pathways to facilitate market access in the broader Agricultural sector, thus, to explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration in agriculture and food security.

The Governor further encouraged Ambassador-Designate, Prof. Boga T. Manatsha, to consider undertaking a visit to the Philippines to gain a deeper appreciation of the countryโ€™s agricultural landscape, including the challenges posed by climate variability and unpredictable weather patterns. Such a visit, he noted, could help identify areas of mutual interest and potential cooperation in agricultural development, climate resilience, and related sectors.

The Governor also acknowledged the diverse investment opportunities available in Botswana, particularly in the mining, agriculture, medical tourism, financial services, hospitality, and entertainment sectors. Discussions also highlighted Botswanaโ€™s stable, investor-friendly environment and its potential for mutually beneficial partnerships between Botswana and Filipino stakeholders.

The Governor indicated his intention to share Botswanaโ€™s development vision, investment opportunities, and areas of potential cooperation with his relevant stakeholders during related engagements.

The Embassy of the Republic of Botswana in Japan remains optimistic in its engagements, and is committed to advancing Botswanaโ€™s national interests across its countries of accreditation. Through its engagements, it has become apparently clear that Botswana is not well known in this region and remain relatively limited. Thus, our engagements involve a multifaceted diplomatic approach: public diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, people-to-people diplomacy, diplomatic engagements, political engagements, digital diplomacy, and economic diplomacy.
