A NOTICE TO ALL FOREIGN NATIONALS ENTERING JAPAN
Foreign nationals are required to complete a disembarkation card (ED card) for submission on arrival.
●This applies to:
・all foreign nationals entering Japan for the first time
Persons in the following categories may submit disembarkation cards electronically via Visit Japan Web:

❌ Holders of special-entry permits
❌ Those eligible under the Japan Status of Forces Agreement(SOFA)
❌ Those eligible under the United Nations Status of Forces Agreement

●The Immigration Bureau recommends electronic filing of disembarkation cards via Visit Japan Web for speed and smoothness.
✅ All procedures at the airport are easier
✅ Forms can be displayed via QR code
✅ Immigration, customs, and other procedures can all be completed at once
📌 How to use the system:
① Register for Visit Japan Web at https://www.vjw.digital.go.jp/ (available in Japanese, English, Chinese (traditional and simplified), Korean, and Vietnamese)
② Enter your disembarkation card information
③ Create a QR code
④ Display immigration inspection forms
⚠ Note:
・Things go most smoothly if you complete the card prior to landing
・If staying on a short-term visa (such as a tourist visa), enter the period of your stay (to a maximum of 90 days)
・Each family member must register individually
Paper disembarkation cards are still advisable for those unaccustomed to electronic procedures.
