９月１５日、国連南スーダン共和国ミッション（ ）の司令部要員として南スーダンの首都ジュバに派遣されていた岩﨑３等陸佐及び菊地３等陸佐は、内倉統幕長へ帰国報告を行いました。
UNMISSは、現在、我が国が要員を派遣している唯一の国連PKOであり、司令部要員の派遣は、南スーダンの和平プロセスの進展を国際社会とともに支援するものです。
防衛省・自衛隊は引き続き、自衛官の派遣等を通じて、国際社会の平和と安定に寄与していきます。

On 15 September, Maj IWASAKI and Maj KIKUCHI, who had been deployed to Juba, the capital of South Sudan,as headquarters staff to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan ( ), reported to CJJS Gen UCHIKURA upon their return.
UNMISS is currently the only United Nations peacekeeping operation to which Japan dispatches personnel.
The deployment of headquarters staff supports the progress of the peace process in South Sudan together with the international community.
The Ministry of Defense and the Self-Defense Forces will continue to contribute to international peace and stability through the deployment of personnel and other efforts.

令和８年９月８日、統合幕僚監部は、欧州を中心とする多国間輸送調整の枠組みであるMCCE（欧州移動調整センター）に加盟国以外の参加である第３国（Third Party）として正式に加盟しました。今回の第３国加盟により、自衛隊は、限定的ではあるものの、参加国との間で輸送手段の調整が可能となり、輸送力の補完や輸送態勢の強化が期待されます。

The Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) is currently participating in Pacific Partnership2026 in Malaysia.
The Chief of the Planning and Coordination Section, Medical Planning Division, Logistics Planning Department, Japan Joint Staff, paid a courtesy visit to the Head of the Consular Office and exchanged views on the JSDF’s activities during Pacific Partnership and the role of the Consular Office.
The JSDF will continue to support the realization of a free and open Indo-Pacific ( ) based on the rule of law and contribute to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.

The Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) is currently participating in Pacific Partnership2026 in Malaysia.
The JSDF personnel from the JSDF Central Hospital and the JMSDF Undersea Medical Center exchanged views on pediatric care and shared their expertise in diving medicine.
Through this mission, the JSDF will enhance its knowledge and skills for international emergency operations and strengthen cooperation with allies and like-minded partners. In doing so, the JSDF will contribute to regional peace, stability, and prosperity by supporting the realization of a free and open Indo-Pacific(FOIP) based on the rule of law.

The photos show training in diving medicine as well as medical activities.
The JSDF personnel from the JSDF Central Hospital, the JMSDF Undersea Medical Center, and the JSDF IrumaHospital participated in training and information exchanges on diving medicine at the Royal Malaysian Armed Force Base Hospital. They also provided health education to local residents at a shopping mall.
Through this mission, the JSDF will enhance its knowledge and skills for international emergency operations and strengthen cooperation with allies and like-minded partners. 令和８年９月７日（月）在日米軍横田基地において、 ＃日米韓共同訓練＃フリーダム・エッジ２６の開会式が行われました。
自衛隊の代表として出席した統合幕僚監部運用部長の石巻海将は、「日米韓３か国の相互運用性と、協力関係を一層強化し、地域の平和と安定に貢献していく。」と述べました。
この訓練は、令和６年度に開始して以来４回目の実施で、９月１１日（金）まで東シナ海及び同上空域などで行われます。

On September 7, 2026, the opening ceremony for the Japan-ROK-U.S. trilateral exercise “Freedom Edge 26” was held at Yokota Air Base, U.S. Forces Japan.
Vice Admiral ISHIMAKI, Director General of the Operations Department, Japan Joint Staff, who attended as the representative of the Japan Self-Defense Forces, stated, “We will further strengthen trilateral interoperability and cooperation among Japan, the ROK, and the U.S., and contribute to the peace and stability of the region.”
This exercise marks the fourth iteration since it was first conducted in 2024, and will be carried out through September 11 (Friday) in the East China Sea and its airspace, among other areas.
