The Shinano River Ohkouzu Museum had one millionth visitors on September 15, 2022! The visitor was a group of 4th grade students in Kuzumaki Elementary School in Mitsuke City. The museum thanked them by inviting a welcome ceremony, hitting a Japanese piňata “kusudama,” and gave them anniversary gifts.

“Thanks-Ohkouzu Deversion Channel Festival was held to celebrate its 100th anniversary on August 27, 2022. About 6,500 people came to the festival and enjoyed live flute performance, radio broadcasting and the Ohkouzu-Diversion-Channel-themed food which were offered at stalls lining around the Shinano River Ohkouzu Museum.

The Ohkouzu Diversion Weir marked its 100th anniversary of the 1st time when it let water flow on August 25, 2022．On that day, we opened the movable weir gate to let water flow into the Ohkouzu Diversion Channel just like the engineers did 100 years ago.
