Here is our NEW video introducing RAKUNA-IV for Chan May Port Breakwater in Hue Province, Vietnam!🇻🇳 In March of this year, the NIKKEN KOGAKU supervisor team visited Chan May Port to give instructions on the fabrication of RAKUNA-IV for the breakwater extension (Phase-2). ⚓️👷‍♂️
We have created a new original video of Chan May Port Breakwater to show the latest situation of the current 450-meter breakwater and introduce the launch of its 300-meter extension. You see a "little surprise" at the end of the video. It’s a must-see!!

"Concrete Blocks (SANREN BLOCK) Using Carbon-Recycled Concrete" Vol.2
An on-site trial construction project in Arakawa River was carried out in collaboration with the technology of "Carbon-Recycled Concrete" by Taisei Corporation and the technology of "Environmentally Active Concrete" by Nikken Kogaku.🤝
At first, let me introduce the “Carbon-Recycled Concrete” created by Taisei Corporation.♻️ Without using any Portland cement, Carbon-Recycled concrete is manufactured using carbon-recycled materials such as calcium carbonate, which is produced by reacting calcium with CO2 captured from exhaust gases, and ground granulated blast furnace slag, an industrial by-product of steel manufacturing.👷 By absorbing CO2 internally within the concrete, there are negative CO2 emissions (balance of absorption and emission).🌳🌷

"Concrete Blocks (SANREN BLOCK) Using Carbon-Recycled Concrete" Vol.1
-----What if concrete absorbs CO2?🏭
-----Do you think it is such an ideal that can never be realized?🍀
On-site trial of "Concrete Blocks (SANREN BLOCK) Using Carbon-Recycled Concrete", jointly proposed by Taisei Corporation and Nikken Kogaku, has launched with the approval of the "Construction Open Innovation Matching" project by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT).🏞🤝
The technologies in this project is expected to reduce and absorb CO2 emissions while ensuring the same performance as ordinal concrete products.♻️
Over the next several posts, we will introduce this "Concrete Blocks (SANREN BLOCK) Using Carbon-Recycled Concrete" project to you all🤗

🇻🇳At Chan May Port, which is being developed in Thua Thien Hue Province in central Vietnam, construction of the breakwater extension (Phase-2✌️) began on October 8, 2022, extending the current 450-meter breakwater by 300 meters.⚓️
“RAKUNA-IV 40-ton type” is the largest size for wave-dissipating blocks in Vietnam (according to our research) and was adopted for the first time in Vietnam for the outer harbor side and the toe of the breakwater.🌊 Approximately 2,600 will be installed together with the "16-ton type" on the inner harbor side. Fabrication of RAKUNA-IV blocks will begin this spring, so we’ll keep you posted!😊👍

Check out our ORIGINAL VIDEO🎞 of the installation of SUBPLEO FRAME (SPF) 20t, which was adopted for the bio-symbiotic revetment (foot-protection) of Shin-Honmoku Pier, which will be the core facility for the future of the Port of Yokohama🛳⚓️🛟 SPF is a frame-shaped block with a hole in the center; filling stones in the SPF are expected to create diverse spaces and habitats for various marine organisms. 🐟🦀🌿
