For this week’s wrap-up:

USS Rushmore kicked things off with a successful fast cruise for watch bill verification, sharpening our watch teams and staying ready.

We proudly celebrated two promotions as our Chaplain and Navigator pinned on Lieutenant. Congratulations LT Marcelo Brooks and LT Michael Schloemer, respectively, this was well deserved!

Congratulations to this week’s Warrior of the Week, SN Hicsel Garcia, representing Deck Department! She set the standard with exceptional attention to detail, correcting over 20 discrepancies this past week.

We also said farewell to BMSN Dakota Reichelderfer and LTJG Isaac Lindskov. Thank you for everything you’ve brought to the Rushmore team. Fair winds and following seas.

For this week’s wrap-up:

Every single day this week, our engineers, or “snipes,” have been putting in the extra work to make sure USS Rushmore runs smoothly. Equipment doesn’t run the ship. Sailors do. These Sailors have been putting in the man-hours to keep Rushmore mission-ready. We’ve featured a few photos to highlight just a snapshot of the hard work happening behind the scenes. Thank you, Engineering!

Deck Department conducted boat operations with our 11-meter enclosed boat while staying on top of preventative maintenance spot checks, executing the mission and maintaining the gear.

We wrapped up the week with two ship tours, one for American Forces Network Pacific Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Cody Chiles, and one for members of the House Armed Services Committee.

It’s been an awesome week on Rushmore, and we’re excited to see what’s next!

For today’s weekly wrap-up:

Earlier this week, USS Rushmore welcomed three National Football League (NFL) cheerleaders aboard in celebration of the Super Bowl. It was a great chance for our team to show their football pride and engage with members of the professional sports community.

Today, the crew conducted Integrated Training Team (ITT) drills on the flight deck to enhance casualty response proficiency and overall mission readiness.

It’s been another great week on board the Rushmore!

USS Rushmore (L*D 47) conducted a change of command on 09Jan26 between Commander Mark
P. Stines and oncoming CO Commander Martin K.
Dineen.
"Standing here on this mighty warship, I am struck by how quickly time passes in the Forward Deployed Naval Forces. They say a day in Japan is worth a week anywhere else because of the pace we keep. Looking back at what we've accomplished together, I believe it. It takes an entire village to be a successful warship. I would like to take a moment to thank those who have helped us the most over the past two years." quote from CDR Stines' departure speech.
