Artisan and Cultural Stalls
5 days only! Get a kimono fitted, or try your hand at the arts of tea, flower arranging, or calligraphy. You will also find handmade pottery, jewellery, art, self-care products, and clothing, as well as an area for antiques!

🍡 Odori Park 6 Chome, 20th-31st, 10:00~21:00
‘Lilac Terrace’. Food (this year’s delicious new arrival is the Mountainman tacos!), sweet treats, and live music in the evenings. Music includes jazz and Irish folk too!

🍷 Odori Park 7 Chome, 20th-31st, 10:00~21:00
‘Lilac Wine Garden’, with over 200 Hokkaido wines from over 70 vineyards around the prefecture. Lots of delicious cuisines to go with!

🪻 Kawashimo Park, 30th-31st
Enjoy a Lilac quiz Rallt and park concerts in this park which has over 200 varieties of lilacs!

Tag someone you want to ride the Lily Train with! 🌷

Yurigahara Park is famous for showcasing the world’s most beautiful flowers. It’s one of my absolute favourite spots to spend a summer day ☺️🌻

To access, either:
🚞Take the Gakuen Toshi JR Line directly from Sapporo Station to Yurigahara Station, then walk for 5 minutes
🚇 Take the Toho Line to Sakaemachi Starion, then either walk for 30 minutes or take a local bus up to one of the park’s stops (~10 minutes)

Don’t worry about when the next bus, train or tram is - just hop on the nearest Porocle and head off on your Sapporo adventure! 🚲🤩

Recommended plans:

🚴‍♀️12 hour pass - 2,500 yen - book at the Sapporo Tourist Information Centre - includes free helmet rental!

Sapporo’s Classic Sightseeing Spot in Spring Style! 🌼
Shiroi Koibito Park is the theme park for Sapporo’s famous "Shiroi Koibito" cookies. In May, seasonal flowers bloom across the garden, bringing a real sense of spring. 🌼 From mid-June through September, the Rose Garden reaches its peak, with roses in full bloom! After snapping some standout shots in the picture-perfect gardens, take a tour of the "Shiroi Koibito" cookie factory, and even try making your own sweets by hand!

Sapporo in May painted in the pastel purple of lilac blooms! 💜
As these breathtaking blossoms reach their peak, the annual spring celebration, the "Sapporo Lilac Festival," returns as ever. Just one year after the event kicked off in 1959, lilacs were named the official "Tree of Sapporo."

💜 Odori Park (May 20–31)
About 400 lilac trees burst into bloom throughout this main venue. Enjoy Hokkaido specialties with some local wine in the refreshing air of the park. ☺️

💜 Kawashimo Park (May 30, 31)
Guided tours and live music performances are held here. Less crowded than Odori Park, it’s the perfect spot for a more relaxed stroll among the flowers.

Sapporo Lilac Festival
When: May 17th - 28th
Where: Odori Park 5-7 Chome /Kawashimo Park ( 27th-28th)

To celebrate the flower tree of the city, Sapporo holds an annual Lilac Festival in Odori and Kawashimo Park. You can enjoy delicious Hokkaido food, drink, stalls selling local products, activities, and even live performances, while basking in the beautiful lilac trees ( there are around 400 trees in Odori Park alone!)💜It really feels like the beginning of summer🌞
Details of Odori Park location:
- 5-chome: shops selling local products/ ikebana/ origami/ traditional Japanese games/ tea making demonstrations. (17th- 21st May)

- 6-chome: food stalls, delicious sweets, local coffee, music performances ( 10am -9pm)
- 7-chome: Sapporo wine garden, limited edition Hokkaido wine, gourmet food (10am-9pm)

The Sapporo Ramen Show is being held in 8-chome, on the block next to the Lilac festival between May 15th-21st/May 23rd-28th 2023. Here you can try many different ramen from around Japan for just 980 yen.
