DENTAC-J hosted its annual Bilateral Dental Training event with dental residents and faculty from the Japan Ground Self Defense Force (JGSDF) and a USN provider from NAF Atsugi (LCDR Vu). The event included dental CE, wartime ICT simulation, an ACFT, and EST range.

TORII STATION UPDATE!!
On May 5, 2023, CPT Yang competed in the 49th Naha Harii Dragon Boat Race in Okinawa as a member of the Army Ladies Dragon Boat Team.
She was one of 33 team members paddling in the 2.4-ton dragon boat. Her team finished first out of 21 teams, advanced to the category final, and became the first all-female team to win the competition. Additionally, SSG Hampton and SGT Ryan competed in the Naha Harii as part of the Black Knights (the army men's team).
They finished in second place in their category. The event gave clinic staff members a chance to get to know one another and socialize outside of their regular responsibilities because they serve as representatives of the local community.

Camp Zama Dental Clinic is saying goodbye to MAJ Shealy. He will be greatly missed. Served as OIC for Camp Zama DC and greatly involved in supporting the dental health care of our soldiers and families stationed at Camp Zama. We wish him luck as he starts his Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Residency in Washington DC.

Camp Zama is getting a special treat this week with hands on digital dentistry continuing education from the one and only LTC Kroll! We are excited to learn from Dr. Kroll and expand our capabilities utilizing this technology!

SPC Moore participated in Land Navigation Training and Weapons Training with the 78th Battalion. The training was aimed at enhancing the Soldier's proficiency in navigation and weapons handling skills.

DENTAC-J attended the 66th Tri-Service Symposium at Kadena AFB last week! Dentists throughout INDOPACOM and the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force presented their research and received top notch continuing education at this year’s event hosted by the 3rd Dental Battalion. What a great venue to build relationships and enhance our enduring partnerships.!
