Shinonome is one of our 6 tatami mat traditional style rooms; perfect for couples looking for an authentic experience.

Situated close to the public onsen, these rooms have changed very little over the years and maintain their Taisho Period (1912 to 1926) charm.

The exposed woodwork and tatami floors make the room feel warm and comfortable and the little details a prime example of Sukiya-Zukuri (Tea house style) architecture and it’s large windows open out into a small private garden.

With prices starting from around JPY 18,000 per person, including a traditional Kaiseki course dinner served in the room and a Japanese style breakfast, guests can enjoy the true spirit of traditional ryokan culture without breaking the bank.

Given the age and style of this room, it does not include a private toilet however there are public facilities close by.

Shinonome also features large windows which open out into a small enclosed garden.
