🚀 SPEXAにおける日本・スイス宇宙分野連携の強化

5月28日、ロジェ・ドゥバッハ駐日スイス大使は「第3回 SPEXAー【国際】宇宙ビジネス展ー」の開催に合わせ、大使公邸にて「日本・スイス宇宙テック・ネットワーキングレセプション」を主催しました。両国の宇宙関連エコシステムから約70名の関係者が集い、活発な交流と新たなつながりが生まれる夕べとなりました。

山川宏氏（JAXA(宇宙航空研究開発機構)理事長）、豊田正和氏（スペースワン株式会社代表取締役社長・国際経済交流財団会長兼CEO）をはじめ、経済産業省（METI）高官の皆様にもご参加いただき、宇宙分野における日本・スイスの協力深化への強い関心が示されました。

プログラムでは、Switzerland Innovation（SIP West EPFL）のほか、Beyond Gravity、Sirin Orbital Systems、maxonといったスイスの中小企業・スタートアップによるプレゼンテーションも行われました。これらの企業は、5月27日〜29日に開催された「世界の宇宙機関・団体パビリオン」内のスイスブースにも出展。本ブースはスイス・グローバル・エンタープライズ（S-GE）がSwiss Aerospace ClusterおよびSwissmemとの協力のもと運営しました。

また本イベントは、2026年3月に経済産業省（METI）とスイスのカウンターパート（スイス連邦経済庁（SECO）およびスイス連邦教育・研究・イノベーション庁（SERI））の間で署名された、イノベーション、経済、産業、および貿易における連携の深化に向けたスイス・日本のロードマップの流れを受けたものでもあります。本ロードマップは、新興技術、イノベーション、産業、貿易、そして宇宙分野を含む新たな協力分野の発掘に向け、両国間の連携をさらに強化することを目的としています。一貫した対話の枠組みや、宇宙セクターを含む新たな協力分野の特定を通じて、先端技術、イノベーション、産業、貿易における日・スイス間の連携を強化することを目的としています。

本イベントの成功にご尽力いただいたすべての関係者の皆様、そして素晴らしい議論にご参加いただいた皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。

🚀 Strengthening Swiss–Japanese Collaboration in the Space Sector during SPEXA 2026

On May 28, Ambassador Roger Dubach hosted the Swiss–Japanese Space Tech Networking Reception at his Residence on the occasion of SPEXA -Space Business Expo- 2026, bringing together 70 stakeholders from both ecosystems for an evening of exchange and new connections.
Among the distinguished guests were Mr. Hiroshi Yamakawa, President of JAXA, Mr. Masakazu Toyoda, President of SPACE ONE and Chairman & CEO of the Japan Economic Foundation, as well as senior officials from METI—a reflection of the strong mutual interest in deepening Switzerland–Japan cooperation in the space domain. The program featured short inputs from Switzerland Innovation (SIP West EPFL), and Swiss SMEs and startups, Beyond Gravity, Sirin Orbital Systems, and maxon, who were also present at a Swiss Booth at the World Space Agency Pavilion between May 27-29, organized by Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) in cooperation with the Swiss Aerospace Cluster and Swissmem.
The event also built on the momentum of the “JP–CH Roadmap towards a closer partnership on Innovation, Economy, Industry and Trade,” signed in March 2026 between METI and its Swiss counterparts (SECO and SERI), which aims to strengthen Swiss–Japanese cooperation on emerging technologies, innovation, industry and trade through structured exchanges and the identification of new areas of collaboration, including in the space sector.

特にヴァレー州産のアンズは名産品として有名です。スイスではこの時期、大量のアンズで素朴なタルトを焼きます。家庭ごとに代々伝わるレシピがあり、酸味と甘みのバランスが絶品です。焼き立ての香りはまさにスイスの初夏の記憶🇨🇭🍑

和平調停をめぐるスイスと日本の対話が深化 🇨🇭🇯🇵

5月11日から13日に、スイス連邦外務省（FDFA）平和・人権局長のティム・エンダーリン大使が、マティアス・ジークフリート上級平和調停アドバイザーと共に来日、和平調停の取り組みに関する交流を深めました🤝

笹川平和財団の招へいにより、オマーンとトルコの代表団や、人道対話センター（HD）、コンシリエーション・リソーシズ（CR）といった専門機関とも協力して実現した今回の訪問は、調停と対話を推進する上での国際的なパートナーシップや連携の重要性を象徴するものです。

エンダーリン氏は、笹川平和財団が新設した「和平調停センター」の設立記念シンポジウムで基調講演を行い、スイスが培ってきた調停や信頼醸成における経験を強調しました。

滞在中、エンダーリン氏は堀井巌外務副大臣をはじめ、日本の和平調停および女性・平和・安全保障に関する議員グループのメンバー、 外務省関係者らと会談し、調停や紛争予防におけるスイス・日本間の一層緊密な協力について協議しました。

12日には、ロジェ・ドゥバッハ駐日スイス大使主催のパネルディスカッションに登壇。スイス連邦工科大学チューリヒ・安全保障研究センター内シンクタンクのダニエル・メックリ氏、人道対話センターのカティア・パパヤンニ氏ら第一線で活躍する専門家と共に、スイス独自の調停手法について議論を深めました。

和平調停は今後も、スイスの外交方針、ならびに国際法や人道対話への揺るぎない姿勢を示す、重要な柱であり続けます。

🕊️Switzerland and Japan deepen dialogue on Peace Mediation 🇨🇭🇯🇵
From May 11–13, Ambassador Tim Enderlin, Head of the Peace and Human Rights Division at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs , visited Japan with Senior Mediation Advisor Matthias Siegfried to deepen exchanges on peace mediation efforts.🤝
Invited by 笹川平和財団　The Sasakawa Peace Foundation with representatives from Oman, Türkiye, the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, and Conciliation Resources, this visit reflected the importance of international partnerships & cooperation in advancing mediation.
Ambassador Enderlin also gave keynote remarks at the Sasakawa Peace Foundation’s new Center for Mediation Support's opening symposium, highlighting Switzerland’s experience in processes & -building.
During his visit, he met with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Iwao Horii, members of Japan’s parliamentary groups on Peace Mediation and Women, Peace and Security, and officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan to discuss closer 🇨🇭🇯🇵 cooperation in mediation & conflict prevention.
On May 12, he also joined a panel discussion on Switzerland’s approach to mediation hosted by Ambassador Roger Dubach with experts Dr Daniel Möckli from Center for Security Studies at ETH Zurich and Dr Katia Papagianni from the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue.
Peace mediation remains a key pillar of Swiss foreign policy and its commitment to international law and humanitarian dialogue.

ダボスと上田、50kmのトレイルと50年の友情 🇨🇭🤝🇯🇵⛰️
5月24日（日）、長野県上田市で開催された「第19回 スカイライントレイル菅平」に、全国から多くのランナーが集まりました。在日スイス大使館からも、ブラウン公使と広瀬綾子、そして以前スイスホームステイプロジェクトに参加した大学生の高野圭太郎さんが参加し、菅平の壮大なトレイルに挑みました。
長年にわたりスイスとの交流を育んできた菅平は、「日本のダボス」としても知られています。50km・30km・15kmの各コースでは、根子岳（2,207m）から望むアルプスを思わせる絶景が広がり、参加者を魅了しました。
今年は、旧真田町（現上田市）とダボスの姉妹都市提携50周年、さらに菅平高原スキー場開場100周年という特別な節目の年。二つの山岳地域を結ぶ長年の友情と交流を改めて感じる大会となりました。
レース前には、公使の家族も一緒に、上田城や柳町を訪れ、上田市の温かなおもてなしにも触れることができました。またブラウン公使は、開会式に先立ち上田市の斉藤市長に表敬の面会をし、長年にわたるダボスと上田市の交流への感謝や、上田市の美しさと温かなおもてなしへの謝意をお伝えしました。その後、開会式ではご挨拶を行い、自ら15kmレースにも参加しました。
すべてのランナーの皆さまに心よりお祝い申し上げるとともに、上田とダボスの絆を支えてくださっている皆さまに感謝いたします。これからも、友情と交流、そして山を愛する心が末永く続きますように🏔️

50km trails, 50 years of friendship for Davos and Ueda 🇨🇭🤝🇯🇵⛰️
Last Sunday, on May 24, runners from across Japan, including our Deputy Head of Mission David Braun, colleague Ayako Hirose, and Keitaro Takano, a former participant in the Swiss homestay project, gave it their all at the 19th Sugadaira Skyline Trail in Ueda City, Nagano.
Known as the “Japanese Davos” for its long-standing ties with Switzerland, Sugadaira offered participants breathtaking alpine scenery across 50km, 30km, and 15km courses, with panoramic views from Mt. Nekodake (2,207m) reminiscent of the Swiss Alps.
This year’s race held special meaning as Ueda (formerly Sanada Town) and Davos celebrate 50 years of sister-city friendship, alongside the 100th anniversary of the Sugadaira ski area.
On this occasion, Deputy Head of Mission David Braun met with Ueda Mayor Tatsuya Saito for a courtesy exchange, expressing appreciation for the long-standing ties between Davos and Ueda, as well as for the city's warm hospitality - our colleagues, together with David’s family, got to explore Ueda Castle and the historic streets of Yanagimachi.
David also delivered remarks at the opening ceremony before joining the 15km race himself.
Heartfelt congratulations to all the runners, and thank you to everyone involved in strengthening the ties between Ueda and Davos. Here’s to many more years of friendship, exchange, and shared mountain spirit. 🏔️

🕊️近衞忠煇氏のご逝去を悼んで

在日スイス大使館は、日本赤十字社元社長・現名誉社長 近衞忠煇氏のご逝去の報に接し、深い悲しみとともに謹んで哀悼の意を表します。また、ご遺族ならびに関係者の皆様に対し、衷心よりお悔やみ申し上げます。
近衞氏は、2005年より14年間にわたり日本赤十字社の要職を歴任されたほか、国際赤十字・赤新月社連盟会長としてアジア地域から初めて選出されました。そのキャリアを通じて国際的人道支援の拡充と発展において極めて重要な役割を果たし、世界の人道活動に顕著な足跡を残されました。
赤十字での活動を通し、近衞氏はスピーカーやゲストとしてスイスおよび当大使館と頻繁に交流をお持ちになりました。また日本スイス協会会長として両国の友好親善に尽力されるとともに、2014年の日・スイス外交関係樹立150周年に際しては親善大使の一人としてご活躍されました。その生涯を通じて近衛氏は、赤十字の創設者アンリー・デュナンが掲げた「人の命を尊重し、苦しみの中にある者を敵味方の区別なく救う」という理念を体現されました。
ここにそのご功績に深甚なる敬意を表するとともに、謹んでご冥福をお祈り申し上げます。

🕊️Our deepest condolences for the passing of Mr. Tadateru Konoe
The Embassy of Switzerland in Japan was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Tadateru Konoe, former President and Honorary President of the Japanese Red Cross Society. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, and all those affected by this loss.
Mr. Konoe led the Japanese Red Cross Society for 14 years, he was also the first Asian person to be elected President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in 2009. Throughout his career, he played a vital role in strengthening relief operations and expanding international humanitarian assistance, leaving a lasting mark on humanitarian action worldwide.
Through his role at the Red Cross, Mr. Konoe often interacted with Switzerland and our Embassy, notably as a speaker and guest. As President of the Japan Swiss Society, he further fostered friendship and exchange between Japan and Switzerland. He also served as one of the goodwill ambassadors during the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Switzerland in 2014.
Throughout his life, Mr. Konoe embodied the ideals of Henry Dunant, founder of the Red Cross, who believed in “respect for human life and helping those who suffer, without distinction between friend or foe.”
We express our deepest respect for his remarkable contributions and extend our sincere condolences.

SIAF2027に向けた、fragmentin のリサーチ滞在の記録 🇯🇵❄️
スイスのメディアアート・コレクティブ fragmentin は、ダヴィッド・コロンビニ、ローラ・ニーダー、マルク・デュボワの3名からなるコレクティブで、 札幌国際芸術祭 2027（SIAF2027 ）に向けたリサーチのため、2026年3月にマルクとローラが、札幌を訪れました。
滞在中には、フィールドワークや地域関係者との交流を通じて、北海道の気候が環境や暮らしに与える影響、そしてモエレ沼公園での今後の展示についてリサーチを行いました。
また、3月7日にはSIAF主催の公開トークイベントにも登壇し、今後の展示やアーティスティック・リサーチについて意見が交わされるとともに、初期段階の知見共有と今後の方向性を議論する機会となりました。
SIAF2027に向けたfragmentinの一連の取り組みは、在日スイス大使館の支援のもと、Vitality.Swiss プログラムの一環として実施されています。

Video recollection of fragmentin’s research residency for SIAF2027 🇯🇵❄️
Follow Swiss media art collective fragmentin — Marc Dubois, Laura Nieder and David Colombini — during their March 2026 residency ahead of the Sapporo International Art Festival 2027 (SIAF2027).
For this residency, Marc and Laura travelled to Japan to carry out fieldwork and exchanges with local partners. They explored how climate shapes the environment and daily life in Hokkaido, as well as the future exhibition at Moerenuma Park. On March 7, they also joined a public talk organized by SIAF, where initial insights were shared and ideas for the future exhibition were discussed with local experts.
fragmentin's series of activities leading up to SIAF2027 is conducted as part of the Vitality.Swiss program, with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan.

4月21日、在日スイス大使館は、スイス大使公邸にて歴史アクション映画『ウィリアム・テル（William Tell）』の特別上映およびトークイベントを開催し、各国大使館関係者や映画業界関係者など約80名のゲストが参加しました🇨🇭🎬✨
当日はまず、本作の予告編および本編の抜粋が上映されました。スイスの伝説的英雄であり、今日においてなお意義深い価値観を体現し続ける建国神話ウィリアム・テルを、現代的な映画表現で解釈した映像が披露されました🏹🎥

Celebrating Swiss Heritage Through Cinema: William Tell in Tokyo
On April 21, around 80 guests, including representatives from diplomatic missions and the film industry, gathered at the Ambassador’s Residence in Tokyo for an exclusive screening and talk event on the epic historical action film William Tell. 🇨🇭🎬✨
The evening opened with a trailer and a selected excerpt from the film, offering a contemporary cinematic interpretation of the legendary Swiss hero William Tell—a powerful founding legend that continues to embody values that remain meaningful today. 🏹🎥
Building on the screening, the subsequent talk session brought together producer Ms. Marie-Christine Jaeger-Firmenich, Mr. Moritz Hemminger, Head of Sales and Acquisitions at Beta Cinema, and Mr. Seigo Tono, Executive Director of the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia. 🎤🌍
