長い歴史を誇る日豪若手政治家交流プログラムの一環として、超党派国会議員団の先生方をオーストラリアにお迎えすることができました。
日豪友好協力基本条約署名50周年にあたり、本プログラムでは、次世代を担う議員の皆さまに、わが国の政策担当者や議員、政府機関や財界のトップ、地域の組織とじかに関わる機会を提供しました。
シドニーとキャンベラ、パースでのスケジュール中、議員団はオーストラリアの与野党議員と会談し、連邦議事堂や選挙委員会、オーストラリア保安情報機構、メンタルヘルス財団、西オーストラリア州にある産業・資源施設を訪れました。また、こうしたプログラムを通じ、安全保障や貿易、エネルギー、重要鉱物、ＡＩ、サイバー、メンタルヘルス、選挙制度、地域開発など、両国にとって重要なテーマを追求しました。
これら一連の内容には、日豪の特別な戦略的パートナーシップや、開かれた対話や相互理解、長期的な人的交流への両国のコミットメントが反映されています。ご参加いただいた先生方の熱心な姿勢に感謝すると共に、この機会に培われた関係や知見が、今後の協力強化につながることを期待しています。🇦🇺🤝🇯🇵
Australia was delighted to welcome a cross-party delegation of emerging Japanese parliamentarians as part of the long-running Japan–Australia Young Political Leaders Exchange Program.
As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Treaty on Basic Friendship and Cooperation, the program provided an opportunity for the next generation of political leaders from Japan to engage directly with Australian policymakers, parliamentarians, government agencies, industry leaders and community organisations.
From Sydney and Canberra to Perth, delegates explored the issues shaping both our nations, including security, trade, energy, critical minerals, AI, cyber security, mental health, electoral systems and regional development. They met representatives from across the political spectrum, visited Parliament House, the Australian Electoral Commission, ASIO, Headspace and Western Australia's strategic industrial and resources hubs.
The program reflects the strength of the Australia-Japan Special Strategic Partnership and our shared commitment to open dialogue, mutual understanding and enduring people-to-people links.
We thank the delegation for their thoughtful engagement and look forward to seeing the relationships and insights developed during this visit continue to strengthen Australia-Japan cooperation for years to come.🇦🇺🤝🇯🇵
