On 5 May, we celebrate the absence of war, the restoration of the constitutional state after the Second World War and the fact that it enables us to live in freedom. Festivities are held throughout the Netherlands over the course of the day.

5月4日、オランダでは追悼の日（Remembrance Day）にあたり、第二次世界大戦の勃発以降、戦争や平和維持活動の中で、オランダ国内外を問わず命を落としたすべての人々‐民間人と兵士の双方‐に思いを寄せます。オランダ時間の午後8時に黙祷を捧げ、平和と自由のために犠牲となった方々に敬意を表します。

During the national commemoration of Remembrance Day we remember all – civilians and soldiers – who have been killed or murdered in the Netherlands or anywhere else in the world in war situations or during peacekeeping operations since the outbreak of the Second World War.

銀行強盗から足を洗い、ロック歌手として更生しようと奮闘するハーマンに対し、ニナは対抗するかのように自らのバンドを結成する。本作は、オランダ・ロック界の破天荒なミュージシャン、ハーマン・ブルード、東ドイツ出身でパンク／ニューウェーブを牽引したニナ・ハーゲン、そしてニューウェーブの重要人物リーナ・ラヴィッチらが出演し、俳優として活躍していたハーバート・キュリエルが監督したカルト映画。当時の空気を生き生きと映し出す本作は、アイ・フィルムミュージアムによる復元によって蘇った。

On February 14, the solo exhibition “Cloud Writings” by Dutch artist Harm van den Dorpel opened at Takuro Someya Contemporary Art in Shinagawa, Tokyo.

The exhibition features a new body of work, including pieces being shown in Japan for the very first time. Continuing his long-standing practice in generative art, van den Dorpel presents a series of algorithmic drawings developed through his own distinctive approach, drawing inspiration from the ideas of women artists who were active in Minimalism and Conceptual Art in the latter half of the 20th century.

2月10日（火）～21日（土）、日蘭文化交流展『Bridging Past & Future（過去と未来のあいだに橋を）』第2回展を東京都港区のSHIBAURA HOUSEにて開催します。

本展は、2025年5月に大阪・関西万博の文化展示場「ギャラリー・イースト」で公開された特別展で、オランダ・ナショナルデー公式行事として、オランダ ウィレム・アレクサンダー国王陛下ならびに高円宮妃殿下のご臨席のもと開幕しました。

より多くの方々に展示をご覧いただく機会を提供するとともに、日本とオランダの協力関係が万博にとどまらず、今後も継続し未来へとつながることを示すため、東京での特別展示を企画しました。皆様のお越しをお待ちしております！

The embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo will host the second edition of the exhibition Bridging Past & Future.

This exhibition was held for the first time at East Gallery at the Expo2025 大阪・関西万博 and opened by His Royal Highness King Willem Alexander and Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado on 21 May 2025 as part of the National Day celebrations.

The embassy organizes this second edition in Tokyo to give more people the chance to see the exhibition. It is also to emphasize that the collaboration between Japan and the Netherlands is not limited to the World Expo and that the exchange continues.
