📣 MoU Signed between Arizona State University, Arizona Commerce Authority, Greater Phoenix Economic Council, and JETRO

Last month, JETRO entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Arizona State University (ASU), the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), and the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) to strengthen collaboration between Japan and Arizona in semiconductors and related fields.

Building on Arizona’s growing role as a semiconductor hub and Japan’s strengths in materials and manufacturing equipment, the MoU lays the foundation for deeper cooperation in R&D, human resource development, and workforce training. 📣 JETRO & RISE-A Sign Cooperation Agreement to Strengthen Japan’s Semiconductor Ecosystem

On March 19, 2026, JETRO and RISE-A signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to enhance Japan’s global competitiveness in the semiconductor and microelectronics sectors. RISE-A is a community and platform for semiconductor stakeholders, established in 2025 by Mitsui Fudosan and dedicated members of the semiconductor industry to accelerate collaboration across industry, academia, and government.

Through this partnership, both organizations will support collaboration between Japanese and overseas companies, promote foreign investment into Japan, and assist Japanese companies in expanding overseas through joint seminars, business meetings, and information-sharing initiatives.

Amid rising geopolitical risks, it is essential to strengthen resilient supply chains. JETRO and RISE-A aim to accelerate industry-academia-government collaboration and strengthen regional ecosystems by leveraging their global networks.
