Moments of Spring: Cherry Blossoms in Mihara📸🌸
☀️As the days grow warmer and longer, a variety of flowering plants begin to bloom, bringing a vibrant burst of colour to landscapes across Japan. Among them, the most eagerly anticipated is the cherry blossom, or sakura. Having been in full bloom until recently, I am sure that many people all over the country have been taking time to appreciate their beauty by visiting local parks, gardens, shrines, and temples.🌳🧺

🏙️In Mihara City, soft shades of pink and white from cherry blossom trees can be seen scattered across the surrounding mountains. That said, you don’t have to travel far to enjoy these iconic flowers. This year, I once again visited some of my favourite spots near JR Mihara Station, where I took in the cherry blossom-filled scenery on a warm spring day. 🚶📸

春のひととき：三原の桜景色📸🌸
☀️日が長くなり、暖かさが増すにつれて、さまざまな花々が咲き始め、日本各地の風景を鮮やかに彩ります。中でも、ひときわ待ち望まれているのが桜です。つい最近まで満開だったこともあり、各地で多くの人々が桜を眺めるために、公園や庭園、神社仏閣を訪れ、その美しさを楽しまれたことでしょう。🌳🧺

🏙️三原市では、周囲の山々に点在する桜が、淡いピンクや白の彩りを見せていました。とはいえ、この象徴的な花を楽しむために遠出する必要はありません。今年も私は、JR三原駅の周辺にあるお気に入りのスポットを訪れ、暖かな春の一日を満開の桜とともに過ごしました。🚶📸

国際交流員（CIR）として三原市で3周年！ 🇳🇿🎉
📍4月12日、三原市に赴任してからちょうど3年という節目を迎えました。 ✈️🇯🇵

💫この1年は、忘れられない思い出や新しい経験にあふれた、とても充実した一年でした。やっさ祭りや浮城まつりなどのイベントへの参加をはじめ、SNSを通じて三原市の魅力発信に取り組んだり、子どもから大人まで幅広い世代を対象に文化体験や出前講座を行なったりと、多くの貴重な経験をさせていただきました。こうした活動を通して、CIRとしての自信も深まり、仕事のやりがいも一層感じられるようになりました。 👨‍🏫🇳🇿

中でも、私の活動がテレビで紹介されたことは、とても印象に残る出来事で、一生の思い出になりました。 📺✨

🤝また、私が三原市に来て出会った多くの優しくて素敵な方々とのつながりを、さらに深めることができたことにも心から感謝しています。皆さまの温かいご支援と優しさに、日々支えられています。 ☺️❤️

🌏これからもCIRとして、多くの方々との交流を大切にしながら、新たな文化交流の機会づくりや地域への貢献に努めていきたいと思います。あわせて、御朱印集めを楽しみながら、三原市はもちろん、日本各地をさらに巡っていきたいです。 ⛩️💮

Sakura and Fireworks in Daiwa-cho, Mihara🌸🎆
🏮Last Saturday on April 4th, the 12th Hakuryuko Fireworks Festival was held in Daiwa-cho, Mihara City. Known to be the first fireworks display each year to be held in Hiroshima Prefecture, this event took place during peak cherry blossom season. During which, it also provided everyone in attendance the chance to enjoy the beauty of sakura in full bloom while sampling delicious local food from the many stalls at the venue.🍜🍡🥟

🌙This year, despite experiencing rain throughout most of the day, the skies cleared up enough just after dark. From which, around 1,000 fireworks were launched, creating a stunning display of light and color against a backdrop of cherry trees in full bloom.🎆🎇

📸As it was my first time experiencing this beautiful event, I made unforgettable memories as I went on to enjoy tasting festival food under the sakura trees, taking photos along the riverside, and, of course, being completely captivated by the fireworks from start to its spectacular finale. For a moment, it honestly felt like I had stepped right inside a painting.🌌🖼️✨

💫Although this year's event has ended, I can't wait to see the fireworks by the sakura-lined riverside at Hakuryuko again next year!🌸☺️

三原市大和町で桜と花火を満喫🌸🎆
🏮4月4日（土）、三原市大和町で第12回白竜湖花火が開催されました。この花火大会は、広島県内で今年最初の花火大会です。桜が満開を迎える時期に行われ、美しい桜を眺めることもでき、会場に並ぶ屋台でグルメも楽しめるイベントでした。🍜🍡🥟

🌙今年は日中こそ雨が降り続いていましたが、日没後にはようやく上がりました。そして、満開の桜を背景に、約1,000発の花火が打ち上げられ、光と色が織りなす幻想的なショーが広がりました。🎆🎇

📸今回初めてこの素晴らしいイベントを訪れた私は、桜の下で屋台の食べ物を味わったり、川沿いで写真を撮ったり、そして何より、最初から最後まで花火の美しい演出に心を奪われたりと、忘れられないひとときを過ごしました。まるで絵の中に入り込んだかのような気分でした。🌌🖼️✨

💫今年の開催は終わりましたが、来年もまた白竜湖の桜並木とともに花火を楽しめる日が、今から待ち遠しいです。🌸☺️

Welcoming Le Soléal to Mihara🛳️🇫🇷
⚓️On March 30th, Mihara City had the pleasure of welcoming the cruise ship Le Soléal. Launched in 2013 with a capacity of up to 264 guests and 145 crew members, this French vessel is known for blending refined elegance with cutting-edge technology, offering a luxurious and comfortable experience for everyone aboard.🇫🇷✨

🎉Marking its first-ever call at Itozaki Wharf in Onomichi-Itozaki Port, the ship was greeted by a delegation from Mihara City with a warm welcome ceremony. Guests and crew were introduced to local cuisine and traditional crafts through food trucks and stalls set up at the port, showcasing the region’s unique specialties.🍜🎎

💐Following an exchange of kind words and commemorative gifts, the ceremony concluded, and guests were invited to explore at their leisure through activities such as taking in the scenic surroundings, experiencing local specialties, and enjoying the charm of the area. We hope everyone aboard Le Soléal had a memorable visit and created lasting impressions of Mihara City!🇯🇵❤️🛳️

⚓️3月30日、三原市にクルーズ船「ル・ソレアル号」が寄港しました。2013年に就航し、最大264名のお客様と145名のクルーを乗せることができます。このフランスのクルーズ船は、洗練された優雅さと最先端の技術を兼ね備え、快適で贅沢なクルーズ体験を提供しています。🇫🇷✨

🎉尾道糸崎港・糸崎岸壁に初めて寄港したル・ソレアル号は、三原市の代表団による温かい歓迎式典で迎えられました。港には地元の料理や伝統工芸品を紹介するキッチンカーやブースが設けられ、乗客や乗組員は地域の魅力に触れるひとときを楽しみました。🍜🎎

💐和やかな雰囲気の中での挨拶や記念品の交換をもって式典は終了し、その後、乗客の皆様は美しい景色を眺めたり、地元の特産品を味わったりしながら、三原の魅力を思い思いに満喫されました。ル・ソレアル号にご乗船の皆様にとって、今回の三原市での滞在が心に残るひとときとなりましたら幸いです。🇯🇵❤️🛳️

Looking back to this year’s hinamatsuri display🎎🎨
⛩️As the final day of viewing the stone Hina dolls at the Honmachi Hinamatsuri came and went, I found myself looking back on the day I visited to take in the scenery. While enjoying the sight of hundreds of hand-painted stone Hina dolls lining the torii-framed steps of Oshima Shrine, I was amazed to learn from a local resident passing by that every single one had been made by children from nearby schools. Together, they created an adorable display full of vivid colours and unique artistic designs.🎨👩‍🎨✨

🌇Arriving just before sunset, I couldn’t help but feel completely relaxed as I wandered around taking photos of more stone Hina dolls at the nearby Soko-ji Temple. At the same time, I appreciated the beauty of the surrounding cityscape as the evening light settled in.📸🌅

🌸Even though the viewing has ended for this year, I’m already looking forward to seeing it again next year!☺️✨

今年のお雛まつりを振り返る🎎🎨
⛩️本町お雛まつりの石雛人形の展示が終わり、訪れた日のことを思い返していました。大島神社の鳥居に囲まれた石段に並ぶ何百体もの手描きの石雛人形を見ながら、通りかかった地元の方から、これらはすべて近くの学校の子どもたちが作ったものだと聞き、驚きました。子どもたちの手によって作られた、色鮮やかで個性豊かなデザインの石雛人形が並ぶ光景はとても愛らしいものでした。🎨👩‍🎨✨

🌇日没直前に到着し、近くの宗光寺周辺を、写真を撮りながら散策していると、自然と心が安らぎました。夕暮れの光に包まれた中で、街並みの美しさに、改めて見とれてしまいました。📸🌅

🌸今年のお雛まつりは終わりましたが、来年また訪れるのが今から楽しみです！☺️✨

Saying goodbye to Winter and welcoming the warm Spring ahead❄️🌸
⛅️As winter’s chill begins to soften and the days grow longer, it becomes clear to me that this year’s Winter season is coming to an end.🌅

🌱Yet with Winter’s farewell comes the gentle warmth and fresh vitality of the Spring season; the warm days it brings inviting us to step outside, seek new pursuits, and make great memories. And as the season ahead promises brighter skies and flowers coming into bloom, it gives us the perfect chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery that it brings.☀️🌸✨

A fierce display of competitive spirit on a winter’s night🔥❄️
🌙Last Saturday on the 21st of February, the cold winter night came alive with energetic shouts of “Wasshoi! Wasshoi!” coming from Kui Inari Shrine as the annual Hadaka Matsuri took place in Kuicho of Mihara City.🗣️⛩️

🏆Established in 1918, this century-old tradition is not only the oldest, it is also the only one of its kind that is held within Hiroshima Prefecture. Featuring around three hundred men wearing only loincloths and headbands competing to seize one of two sacred sticks, each representing “yin” and “yang”, it is said that whoever claims one of these sticks earns the title of “lucky man” and will be granted good fortune for the year.💪🏼🍀

⚡️From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere had turned electric as the white cloth was dropped from atop a platform overlooking the mass of participants, signaling the start of the contest. The shrine grounds erupted into a fierce scramble as participants battle for the prize, making for a truly unforgettable sight.🔥

🔎If you’re looking for a unique and unforgettable experience filled with much tradition and history, this festival is well worth seeing when it returns next year.❄️✨

凍てつく夜に燃える闘志🔥❄️
🌙2月21日（土）、冬の冷え込みが厳しい夜、久井稲生神社の境内は「ワッショイ！ワッショイ！」という威勢のよい掛け声が響き渡り、熱気に包まれました。三原市久井町で、毎年恒例のはだか祭が開催されました。🗣️⛩️

🏆1918年（大正7年）に始まったこの行事は、100年以上の歴史を誇り、広島県内でも特に古い祭りのひとつで、県内で唯一行われているはだか祭りです。三百余名の男たちが、ふんどしと鉢巻き姿で、「陰」と「陽」を象徴する2本の御福木を奪い合い、御福木を手にした者は「福男」となり、その一年を幸運に恵まれると伝えられています。💪🏼🍀

⚡️開始の合図とともに、壇上から白布が投げ入れられると、会場の熱気は一気に最高潮に達しました。御福木をめぐって男たちが激しくぶつかり合う光景は、境内を印象的な雰囲気で満たし、訪れた人々の心に深く刻まれたことでしょう。🔥

A brilliant view of hand-painted Hina dolls set against rows of vibrant torii gates!🎎⛩️
🪆Also known as “Girls’ Day” or “the Doll Festival”, Hinamatsuri (March 3rd) is a cherished tradition in Japan that is held every year to celebrate the health, happiness, and wish for the bright future of girls everywhere. Around this time of year, many families display beautiful “hina ningyo” dolls usually dressed in Heian period clothes as symbols of protection and good fortune.👘🍀

⛩️Right now, hand-painted dolls made with a wide variety of vivid colours and designs are on display at Oshima Shrine in Mihara City. And from February 21st (Saturday) to March 14th (Saturday), a multitude of around a thousand stone Hina dolls are set to decorate the torii-lined steps for a truly brilliant sight!🪨🎎
