在位日本傳統曆法中，6月被稱為「水無月（Minazuki）」。雖然正值梅雨紛飛的時節，但字面上卻是「沒有水」的意思，是不是覺得很不可思議呢？
關於這個名稱有幾種說法：其中之一是這其實意指「水之月」；另一種說法則是因舊曆6月正值插秧時期，農民會將水引進田裡，因此才有了這個稱呼。
