あっぱれ！
新しく着任した国際交流員、ハリーです。
歩いて種差海岸に行くのは無理って私の同僚に言われましたので先週の土曜日徒歩でやってまいりました（片道5時間くらい）。🏃💪
なんとなく、どうしても見とれてしまう風景ですね、種差海岸は。

つい昨日、同僚と一緒にガイドの吉田博史さんを講師に種差海岸の研修へ出かけました。曇り空の種差海岸も格別ですね。神秘感を帯びているような。

そしてお気に入りはやっぱり最後の写真です。種差海岸の遊歩道の途中で「コウモリ穴」と書いてある標識は見たことあるかな？実はその洞窟へ続く道があるんです。ちょっとした斜面になっているので、地面が特にぬかるんでいる時は気を付けてくださいね。
そのコウモリ穴の最奥にはちょっとした秘境があります。神体には「豊玉彦命」（とよたまひこのみこと）というお名前が書いてあります。実をいうと、その豊玉彦命とは綿津見神（わたつみのかみ）、日本の海の神様の別名とも言われている。
土曜日のお出かけでこんな素敵な遺産に遭遇するとは思いもしませんでした。感激しています、本当に。
これからもあっちこっちを探検しているだろうと思いますから、今後の発見にもご期待ください！🙏

My coworker told me that it's impossible to walk all the way to the Tanesashi Coast from Fukiage-cho, so I decided to put that to the test last Saturday (takes about 5 hours one way) 🏃💪
The view just kinda pulls you in. Don't know any other way of putting it.

Yesterday, with the help of tour guide Hiroshi Yoshida, our group went out for a study of the Tanesashi Coast.

Now for a little explanation of my favorite of the pictures in this post, the last one. Have any of you guys seen a sign post that reads 「コウモリ穴」(Bat Cave) on your way along the Yodo-no-Matsubara Trail? Well, there's actually a trail leading all the way up to the cave! It's rather slanted and can get pretty slippery after the rain, so please be careful.
In the deepest part of the cave, there is a shrine that reads 「豊玉彦命」(Toyotamahiko-no-Mikoto). It turns out from the little research I've done, this is the alternate name of "Watatsumi-no-Kami," the Japanese God of the Seas.
I didn't think for a moment I'd come across such a magnificent legacy of history on my little weekend walk. I'm overjoyed about it, truly.
I imagine that I will be continuously adventuring around just like this in the future, so look forward to my upcoming discoveries! 🙏
