Yui Valley, is a 100 year old traditional Japanese home in the countryside of Shizuoka surrounded by bamboo forests, green tea plantations, mountains, and rivers.🌿
As we are currently preparing the home the new season, we would like to look back and share the intention behind why Yui Valley was first created.
Before Yui Valley, Dai, the owner and host was a long term backpacker, travelling the world for many years. He believed travel was a way of life, where one can experience beautiful cultures, meet many people and feel the deeper essence of life.
Throughout his travels, Dai realised his own dream of opening a guesthouse in Japan, his home country. He believed it was a way that he could continue to travel by meeting and hosting guests from all over the world. All whilst sharing a place to slow down, and experience the timeless beauty of the Japanese countryside.
Thus, Yui Valley was opened with this purpose, to share with others. Yui 結 means connection and harmony — a spirit of coming together.
And so, we are very grateful to all our guests for choosing to stay with us. It’s such a special experience and blessing to share time with you all. Next week will be the beginning of our new season 2026. We are excited to meet you all soon. Thank you for being with us. 🙏
