Best wishes for 2017 from Hapnik!

(Hapnik?! Who’s Hapnik?! )

Traditionally it is very naughty to tell people of a name change in a New Year’s card, but being the rebels we are, we are taking the audacious step of not only wishing you all the best for the 2017, but also of letting you know that Alvin, Darren, Joseph and Miwo, collectively formerly known as Make It Creative, are now Hapnik.

As Hapnik, we will be continuing to design and run creative workshops for social good, but we will also be branching out into more experimental fields, with a focus on fun, happiness and health. Our first community-focused project will launch in mid-January, with the aim of getting your 2017 off to the best possible start. We can’t wait to share it with you!

We very much appreciate the support of the community over the past few years, and are very excited to be embarking upon the next phase of our community’s growth.

Last month, for the third in our series of Robot Challenge workshops for this year's Microsoft YouthSpark, we had the opportunity to work with a fabulous group of graduates from the TOMODACHI Microsoft Social Innovation and Leadership program run by iLEAP.

【Microsoft YouthSpark x iLEAP x Make It Creative WORKSHOP】TOMODACHI - Microsoft iLEAP Social Innovation の卒業生を対象にしたワークショップを開催しました！

卒業生が増えコミュニティが年々大きくなっていくiLEAP。
今回のワークショップでは、世代間をつなげ、コミュニティを発展させていく機会とすることをミッションとして、Spheroとプログラミングを使ってのチーム対抗ロボットチャレンジ、ダイアログ、そしてマニフェストづくり、といったセッションを組み合わせた、活気とクリエイティビティが溢れに溢れた最高の one day ワークショップとなりました。

参加してくださったひとりひとりのモチベーションやクリエイティビティや積極性が本当に高く、次から次へとやってくる質問とその姿勢にドライブされて場が作られて行き、1日が進んで行きました。ファシリテーターはファシリテーター（助産師）なのだ、と、改めて教えて頂いたとても貴重な機会でした。

参加してくださった方、素晴らしい時間を心からありがとうございました！
片付けでバタバタしてしまい、お一人お一人とゆっくり話す時間が持てなかったことがとても心残りです。参加者のみなさま、もし質問とか、フィードバックとかがあれば、コメントでもメッセージでもなんでもOKですので、ぜひぜひ、お聞かせ頂けると嬉しいです！

Microsoftの YouthSpark プログラムの一環として、Make It Creative は福岡と岩手の釜石でワークショップを開催しました。
世界的に若者にコンピューター・サイエンスに触れる機会を与え、それぞれの将来にさまざまな形で役立ててもらいたいという想いから実現しました。参加者のほとんどはコーディングの初心者でしたが、午後にはプログラミングを使って Sphero というロボットを操作し、競う「SpherOlympics」に参戦できるまでになりました！

As a part of Microsoft’s global youth initiative, YouthSpark, Make It Creative developed a custom one-day program for 70 youth in Fukuoka and Kamasishi. Students learnt the fundamentals of coding, and then put their newly acquired skills to use by programing a robot, the Sphero, to navigate a series of obstacle courses in a competition we called the 'SpherOlympics'!
