[2026 World Friends Korea Volunteer Program Partners Workshop]

On May 12, the KOICA Jordan Office held the “2026 World Friends Korea Volunteer Program Partners Workshop.” The purpose of this workshop was to improve the efficiency of program implementation by enhancing partner organizations’ understanding of the volunteer program, the volunteer demand survey process, and service regulations.

In addition, the workshop provided a communication platform through the KOICA Public Customer Satisfaction Index (PCSI) survey, allowing participants to share their opinions, suggestions, and challenges related to the WFK volunteer program.

The workshop served as a meaningful opportunity to further strengthen partnership and communication between KOICA and its partner organizations in Jordan through active discussions and exchanges of views. KOICA will continue to make efforts to develop the volunteer program and enhance cooperation with relevant institutions. Thank you.

5월 12일, KOICA 요르단 사무소는 “2026 WFK 봉사단 프로그램 협력기관 협의회”를 개최했습니다. 본 협의회는 협력기관들이 봉사단 프로그램, 봉사단 수요조사 과정 및 복무 규정에 대한 이해를 높여 프로그램 운영의 효율성을 향상시키기 위해 진행되었습니다.

또한 KOICA 고객만족도 조사(PCSI)를 통해 소통을 위한 창구를 제공하여, 참가자들이 WFK 봉사단 프로그램과 관련된 의견, 제안 및 운영상의 어려움을 공유할 수 있도록 했습니다.

이번 협의회의 활발한 논의와 의견 교환을 통해 KOICA와 요르단 내 협력기관 간의 파트너십과 소통을 더욱 강화하는 뜻깊은 계기가 되었습니다. KOICA는 앞으로도 봉사단 프로그램의 발전과 유관 기관과의 협력을 위해 지속적으로 노력할 것입니다. 감사합니다.

[KOICA Alumni Association of Jordan (KAAJ) Holds a Knowledge-Sharing Seminar]

On April 29, 2026, KOICA Jordan Office, in collaboration with the KOICA Alumni Association of Jordan (KAAJ), hosted a knowledge-sharing seminar at the Rotana Hotel under the theme “Capacity Building on Strengthening Statistical Ability of SDG Indicators.”

The seminar brought together 40 participants from key government institutions, including the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. It served as a platform to exchange insights and explore how technology can enhance digital learning systems to support innovation and sustainable development.

The event also highlighted key lessons learned from the KOICA training program conducted in 2025, which was attended by three officials from MOPIC. Discussions emphasized the growing importance of technological advancements in improving education quality, increasing accessibility, and contributing to long-term development outcomes.

Since 1991, KOICA has supported Jordan through its CIAT program (Capacity Improvement and Advancement for Tomorrow), strengthening human resource capacity for the country’s socio-economic development. To date, over 1,233 Jordanian officials have participated in training programs in Korea.

[KOICA 168th Volunteers Local Adaptation Training Completion]

On February 17, 2026, KOICA 168th KOICA volunteers Ms. Sim Eun-yong, Mr. Hwang Kyung-ho, and Mr. Lee Han-woo successfully completed their six-week local adaptation training.

After completing the training, the volunteers will be assigned to their respective institutions to carry out their duties. Ms. Sim Eun-yong will conduct electricity and power education at Abu Baker Al Razi Comprehensive School for Boys, Mr. Lee Han-woo will teach Korean at Al-Balqa Applied University, and Mr. Hwang Kyung-ho will teach Korean at The Hashemite University.

We kindly ask for your continued support and encouragement so that the volunteers can faithfully fulfill their responsibilities and successfully continue their lives in Jordan. Thank you.

[Welcome our new KOICA volunteers]

On January 8, 2026, three new KOICA volunteers safely arrived in Jordan.
After receiving 6 weeks of local adaptation training, they will be assigned to their respective institutions.

Mr. Sim will teach electricity and power at Abu Baker Al Razi Comprehensive School for Boys,
Mr. Lee and Mr. Hwang will teach the Korean language at Al-Balqa Applied University and Hashemite University, respectively.

We kindly ask for your support and encouragement so that our new volunteers can embrace this new beginning with courage and enthusiasm. Thank you.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Amman and KOICA proudly co-hosted the 2025 Korea Alumni of Jordan event, uniting over 100 alumni from KOICA Fellowship and Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) programs.

This first joint gathering of KOICA and GKS alumni marked a meaningful milestone, celebrating the enduring friendship between Korea and Jordan, a partnership built on trust, respect, and shared learning.

During the event, alumni shared how their experiences in Korea have strengthened their professional skills and inspired new initiatives for Jordan’s development.

Since 1991, KOICA has trained more than 1,200 Jordanian government officials through its fellowship programs. Since 1967, the Korean government has also offered the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) program, providing international students with opportunities to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies at Korean institutions.

Together, KOICA and GKS continue to build lasting bridges of cooperation through education and knowledge exchange.

The KOICA Alumni Association of Jordan (KAAJ) also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting local communities and fostering people-to-people connections.

[KOICA Jordan and Palestine Offices Hold Joint Safety Training Workshop]

On September 30, 2025, the KOICA Jordan Office held its second Safety Training Workshop of the year in Amman to strengthen emergency preparedness and improve emergency response coordination.

As part of the training, each participant prepared their own emergency kit (비상가방) and exchanged feedback with others, learning how to respond more flexibly and effectively during potential evacuation situations.

The workshop featured a comprehensive security briefing by Mr. Mohammad Tahboush, Field Security Associate from the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS). He covered key topics such as the local security context in Jordan, threat assessment, crime prevention, and emergency response.

In addition, the KOICA Jordan Office facilitated internal discussions on safety regulations, evacuation protocols, and sexual harassment prevention measures, ensuring that all volunteers are aware of KOICA’s core policies and standards of conduct.

This safety training reaffirms KOICA’s commitment to safeguarding its personnel by equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to respond confidently in emergency situations, while further strengthening the office’s overall crisis management capacity.
