Jordan & Germany joined forces to create an innovative,sustainable, affordable&reliable energy system

The Jordanian-German Energy Partnership has been established between the Government of Jordan and the Federal Government of Germany in April 2019. The partnership promotes the exchange of experiences to develop and enhance a sustainable, reliable, and affordable supply of energy. Jordan has made significant progress within the field of renewable energy over the past years. The country has witnesse

d a rapid rise in installed solar power capacity and production, driven by its goal to obtain 31% of its electricity needs from renewable energy sources by 2030. At the same time, the country aims to decrease energy demand by 9%. Thanks to its experience of the energy transition, Germany presents a robust and mature market for innovative energy solutions. Thus, the Energy Partnership offers a particularly suited platform for cooperation and knowledge exchange on sustainable and future-proof energy supply. Under the partnership framework, stakeholders share information and support innovation in the Jordanian energy sector.

🌟 Jordanian German Energy Event 🌍

H.E. Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, visited the German Energy Academy in Jordan, highlighting the importance of the academy in preparing trainees, providing them with the necessary skills, and facilitating their access to the labor market so that they can be partners in the energy transition process. Al-Kharabsheh appreciated the German government’s support to Jordan in different sectors, especially in the energy sector, emphasizing on the importance of this partnership, which we are proud of its outcomes and the stage it has reached today.

The German Ambassador, Dr. Bertram von Moltke on the other side, said today's event builds on strong diplomatic energy relations and successful cooperation in the energy field between Jordan and Germany. Considering both countries as leaders in their regions with ambitious renewable energy goals, Dr. Bertram added, “His Excellency the Minister and I had the opportunity to visit the German Energy Academy this morning. It is the place where knowledge of the transition to green energy is developed, and we had inspiring exchanges with the students.”

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Al-Kharabsheh and the Dr. Bertram handed over graduation certificates to the second patch graduates of the German Energy Academy in the topics of solar energy installation and energy efficiency. Dr. Bertram considered this step as another example of the Jordanian-German energy partnership because the graduates are accredited according to the German standards and issued by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce Abroad. .🌞🔌

🌟 فعالية الشراكة الأردنية الألمانية في قطاع الطاقة! 🌍

قام معالي الدكتور صالح الخرابشة، وزير الطاقة والثروة المعدنية، بزيارة تفقدية لأكاديمية الطاقة الألمانية في الأردن من خلالها أهمية الأكاديمية في اعداد المتدربين وتزويدهم بالمهارات اللازمة وإعدادهم وتسهيل وصولهم إلى سوق العمل وليكونوا شركاء في عملية التحول الطاقي، وثمن الخرابشة دعم الحكومة الألمانية للأردن في قطاعات مختلفة وخصوصا في قطاع الطاقة، مؤكدا استمرار هذه الشراكة التي نفخر بمخرجاتها والمرحلة التي وصلت اليها اليوم.

من جانبه قال السفير الألماني د. بيرترام فون مولتكه أن حدث اليوم يبنى على علاقات الطاقة الدبلوماسية القوية والتعاون الناجح في مجال الطاقة بين الأردن وألمانيا. معتبرا كلا البلدين رائدين في منطقتيهما مع أهداف طموحة للطاقة المتجددة وأضاف د.بيرترام " لقد أتيحت لنا أنا ومعالي الوزير فرصة زيارة أكاديمية الطاقة الألمانية هذا الصباح. إنه المكان الذي يتم فيه تطوير المعرفة الخاصة بالتحول إلى الطاقة الخضراء وقد أجرينا تبادلات ملهمة مع الطلاب.".

وفي نهاية اللقاء سلّم د. صالح الخرابشة و د. بيرترام شهادات التخرج على خريجي أكاديمية الطاقة الألمانية الجدد في موضوعات أنظمة الطاقة الشمسية وكفاءة الطاقة، حيث اعتبر مولتكه هذه الشهادات مثالاً آخر على شراكة الطاقة الأردنية الألمانية لأنها مبنية على المعايير الألمانية وصادرة عن غرفة الصناعة والتجارة الألمانية.

On the occasion of the Day of German Unity, the Jordanian-German Energy Partnership facilitated the mobile exhibition “Energy in Transition – Powering Tomorrow”, organized by the Office of Federal Affairs and held in its first location – the Mövenpick Hotel Amman – to discuss the vision to achieve a cleaner tomorrow! 🌿
To achieve our goal of limiting temperature increase, we must drastically reduce emissions across sectors by 2050. How? Through a global energy transition! Imagine energy from wind, sun, and more, powering advanced technologies and innovative clean energy mobility solutions.

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟

In collaboration with DEinternational, the service unit of the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce, supports the proceedings of the Jordanian-German Energy Business Council. We are pleased to have hosted the Jordanian-German Energy Business Council's third meeting on Thursday, September 21.

Representatives from the public and corporate sectors of Jordan and Germany attended the meeting to discuss business prospects in the country's energy industry and to work together to advance a sustainable, reliable, and affordable energy supply in Jordan.

The meeting was opened under the patronage of her excellency Eng. Amani Azzam, Secretary-General of the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and Dr Florian Reindel, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Jordan.

The event started with remarks on the outcomes of the previous Jordanian-German Energy Business Council, which was followed by an overview on the new investment law. Afterwards, a panel discussion was conducted on how this new law affects the opportunities of energy transition investment.

The Jordanian-German Energy Partnership, initiated in April 2019, is a collaborative effort between the German Federal Government and the Government of Jordan. It seeks to enhance bilateral dialogue, ensuring a sustainable, affordable, and dependable energy supply. Jordan is one of 20 countries engaged in such energy dialogues with Germany, fostering knowledge exchange and driving the transition to renewable energy.

This partnership is led by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Facilitating their work is the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, with secretariats in Amman and Berlin.
